Pretty much nothing works long term, but I have the best luck with Pyranha.

Pyranha for me too. It's the best I've found.

dy-fly works the best for me. the horseflies were so bad last year I had to resort to fly blankets, getting fly boots this year in hopes to save their feet some.

I clean my stalls first thing in the morning while it's still cool out. Flies are just starting to congregate here. After I clean I spray down the walls with pyranha aerosol . Doesn't take much but it sure has made a difference. On the horses I use tri tech. I like it because it has sun screen in it too. Seems to work good on repelling. I wish I could afford an automatic fly spray system in my barn but I usually just get one of those auto spray boxes and we hang it on the wall in each horses stall. Helps keep the flies in check too. And it smells nice !
