Location: Oregon | For those of you who have downsized from a 4 horse trailer to a 3 horse, do you hate it or did it work out good for you? Trying to decide if its the right thing to do or not.

Location: Oklahoma | May I ask how many horses y'all typically haul? I want a three horse, but my husband wants four. I only run one horse, but would like a backup horse here in the next year or so.
I guess my biggest concern is pulling the trailer itself. All I've ever pulled is a 2H slant BP, but my husband says the length difference between 3/4 horses isn't going to be noticeable.... And I don't want to look like I'm an idiot for pulling up with a 4H and only pulling out on horse. |

Location: Florida.. | I always keep one open so I think you will like it better.. I have had both 3 and 4 and enjoyed the 3 better.. have hauled 3 horses and had plenty of room.. even without extra stall. If you only haul 2 I think a 3 would be better..imho. |

Location: sunny california | it seems everyone is wanting to down size, then because of gas and economy people are trying to catch rides with each other to save gas. I think I would just stick with 4 horse IF everything else matches
I would trade down if I was getting a good deal on a living quarters or the 3 horse had mangers and midtack and just all around more things that I wanted. |

I have a 4 horse too, when I do haul I have 2 horse's are 3 with me, I hardly ever haul 4 but I love that I can store stuff in the font stall when I go on a long trip, comes in very handy.. |

I have a 4H with LQ, but mostly just have 1 horse to run. Although I will be running my mare again also next year. We upgraded from a 3H last year. And the reason we went with the 4 H is because we do have 4 horses and a mini donkey running around. I love the fact that I can load up all the horses at 1 time and get them to the vet in 1 trip... or where ever we are going. And I do use the first stall with stud divider for storage. Just love the fact that I can load up, and not have to puzzle for a day to get everything loaded, like I used to do with the 3H. So, what I am trying to say is, if you don't really have to down size (everything is payed of, and not a reall need in selling) I would stay with the 4H. JMHO

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that people who pull big trailers and only haul one horse are idiots. Wasn't my intention at all. |

No worries... I actually thought it was funny.... And I am sure there are some people around here that actually think that when I show up to a race..... |

We do a lot of trail riding and I don't know what we would do w/o that 4th slot! How did we even haul what we needed when we had a stock trailer? Guess you get spoiled to that room, but I'm also thankful for it. |

Location: Iowa | I went down from a 4 to a 3. I usually haul 2 horses. Pros of a 3, most people won't ask to ride along because they have 2 also, A little shorter. Cons: It's hard to haul with someone ( they usually have two, I miss the extra storage, resale is better on a 4 horse. I regret doing it. |
