Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Ok, really didn't know how to title this one. And yes I know every horse is different. But I am looking for another barrel horse and I really am not a bloodline guru. I know some, but that's about it. So I would love to hear everyone's opinions on "User Friendly"bloodlines. I see posts about certain bloodlines that just about anyone can ride, or others that are typically a hard headed sort of line. And I get that everyone has different opinions, but was curious what people thought about what types that are usually easier types of horses in the long run. Thanks |

| For me... I've gotten along impeccably well with pleasure lineage. I've ridden several that are pleasure bred (not trained. It's too difficult to remove a spur stop for me) and they have been really easy to train on. They have the speed that few rarely think about and have a trainable mind. But that's just me!
I've ridden only one Dinero baby and loved her. She had just been a kids lesson horse and started her on the pattern. That horse was disgustingly natural. Didn't stand any higher than 14.2 and could clock in the big pens. She made me a believer in his babies.
If I ever have the opportunity to buy another, I will in a heart beat.
I'd steer clear of some of the racier lineage. I have a son of Achievement (Beduino x Florentine) and out of a foundation running mare. I adore him. Hes fast. Hes sweet. Hes built just right. BUT he's 10 this year and I feel as though he is just starting to mature mentally.
You have to find what you like too. I get along with Impressive bred horses... many don't. Just gotta find what you enjoy riding. |

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Thanks, I know I have to find what I mesh with. There are some that I know I don't care for. I had a couple Sambo Watts geldings a long time ago and even though I had them at different times, I didn't mesh with them at all. I have one mare now that I feel that she will be a great horse for me...in about 3-5 years when she finally matures. And she is older race breeding. It seems that I'm finding all the horses that I don't mesh well with. LOL!! |

| Firewater Finale and Mighty Mind Bender. There aren't many Benders in the world but if you find one you won't be sorry. I have two right now and their minds are second to none plus they're athletic as all get out. Love love love them.

Location: Montana | I was thinking about asking a similar question recently. But, I think every person fits different with different horses. I think, though, that some horses are just easier to get along with. But personally, I'm still testing out different bloodlines, LOL. Around here quite a few people like Darkelly bred horses, I know my trainer does, but I have no personally experience. It also seems like First Down Dash breds are pretty popular too, but there are a whole lotta different bloodlines to go around. |

My 21 y/o Three Ohs grandson hung my moon and stars The sweetest horse I've been around is my Treasured Too/Kitaman mare. But she's also very sensitive. She has to be treated just right (if you get hard on her, you'll pay forever.) My hardest, by FAR!!!!!! is my race x foundation bred 5 y/o. I couldn't have another like him. |

There are so many great bloodlines out there but you asked for User Friendly and that fits FWF's more then any other bloodline I can think of.

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | Thanks for all the input. I couldn't agree more that it really does depend on the perosonalities of the horse and the rider and how they mesh well together. It is wonderful to hear the different takes as well and the reasons behind them too. Thanks :) |

Location: NE Texas | I have to say these two babies i've gotten that are by El Scorcho are the most user friendly horses i've ever messed with. They just get it and are born almost broke I think. Both out of running bred mares, the grey filly out of a TB mare and both of them are just as great minded as can be and have handled everything I have thrown at them so far. |
