Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | I ran at two barrel races on Saturday AND lol, I didn't knock any barrels down. My knee caught one though, but I'm proud of my little bruise. My first run was a 30 seconds. Then, I had a 26 and a few 25's lol. I was stuck on 25 until the final showdown between Bryan and I. He beat me with a 23 and I got a 24!!! I waited all day for a video of me running so I could look for ways to improve. I finally got THE WORST VIDEO EVER on my last ride and see I'm slowing down a lot around the barrels....so, I'll certainly work on that. I shared Hearts For Lena with my two nieces. My niece, Abigal won 2nd in Pee Wee's at the first rodeo and 1st in Pee Wee's at the second! All in all, my family and I had a blast. Neither Bryan or I are walking upright today, but we have two weeks to recover for our next shot at it....MUST. MAKE. A. 23! LOL

Mare never bucks, but she bucked from the alley to the first barrel where he fell. I haven't laughed that hard in years. That could be why he made sure he beat my butt in our showdown lol. |

Who knew lol? She's awesome. I dressed her up with a mohawk and a bunch of pink ribbons and pink polka dot polos. The girls loved riding her around :) |

Well, YAY for not knocking any barrels down, your times were atleast DECREASING and congrats to your niece!! Nothing beats doing something you love and spending time with your family!
Did Hootie get to experience his first barrel race? Any pictures? (Not going to even bring the video up.. Lol)

I had a major embarrassing moment at a fun show a couple of weeks ago. I've been legging up and running a friend's horse while she's busy with nursing school. This is typically a 1D horse, and we just went to a little fun show for his first run after 6 months off. That darn horse stopped, and I mean STOPPED, from a dead run on the backside of first and third. His second barrel was flawless, though. Instead of the 15 second run we SHOULD'VE had, we "ran" a 25.
Needless to say, I was mortified. But that's just part of the game, and I can laugh about it now! |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | Hootie was the only one, besides the two mares, that lasted with me the ENTIRE day. I asked Bryan to send me a couple of pictures. My phone is CRAP lol.
And, thanks everyone! It was soooo fun! My family was there and my nieces and I really had a blast. I'm using kid stirrups on my saddle and I had too long of reins for my nieces lol....by the second rodeo, I had a new set of reins....now, I have to buy a good kid's saddle. They are serious Pee Wee competitor's now lol.
