Thoughts on this horse? I have struggled to get him to run for a while and we recently discoved he has some mild arthritis in his right knee and all my flex tests yesterday showed it wasnt' bothering him at all
(i have him on Pentosan
). Still super doggy. Anyone see sore or just lazy? I've been told he should be a 1/2D horse in Michigan when we find that gear!

I see him as being a super nice kids barrel horse. Have one just like him, I could MAKE him be a 1D/2D horse but it took very hard aggressive riding, his personality didn't handle the pressure too well. Now he is a super nice kids/3D/4D barrel horse, the level he was made for. Some horses have all the ability to perform at the top but not the heart/mind to do it. Looks like a very nice little horse.

Funny you mention that - i gave him to my daughter. This is her first ride on him this year
(yesterday, as well
).

I feed Tribute to him and he is on Lixotinic. He is never hot. Thoughts on other supplements/feeds that might help him be a little more peppy? Cool Calories 100? Perktone?

If he's on Lixotonic he should be busting the doors open.Especially if he's on a decent feed. I would keep looking for a pain source. Other than that, beet pulp and super sport, and a low protein feed is where I've gotten the most energy.

I don't like to try to change a horse's personality with feed. I think he looks like a nice horse the way he is, some just aren't suited to be speedsters

Reminds me of my daughter's little dun horse I rescued a few years back. He's never gonna blow the doors off the pen with his speed but he's safe and sane and tries his little heart out for her. He's just not in a huge hurry to get anywhere lol! I have him on blue bonnet omega force and platinum. I did notice a wee bit more "pep in his step" after being on the platinum though.
