Location: Montana | Today was the day for me. My lovely, beautiful 3 year old gelding (see my profile pic) decided he would feed himself. I had him tied to the trailer, with the trailer door open, thought I had him tied short enough, and went and rode my mare. When I came back, here is what I found...he didn't just stick his head in the bag to eat, he decided to take the bag OUT of the trailer. This picture is almost exactly as I found the "scene of the crime." LOL.

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | That is funny! I've got one like that. She was tied to the trailer a few weeks ago and started pawing the fender. I yelled at her. She stopped and looked at me, and you could see the wheels turning. So then she moved so that her head was hidden behind the open trailer door and started pawing again. Because horses are so small, if they can't see you, you can't see them either, right? I yelled at her again, and she POPPED out from behind the door with a startled look on her face. Like ****, mom is magic. This is also the same horse that has undone "horse-proof" latches, stole a broom and hit me with it, and thinks it's fun to steal tools and move the farrier's stand when he's not looking. Gotta love em, it's tough to stay a step ahead of that kind. |

Location: Texas | I had a gelding that was the biggest pig I have ever seen. He would eat anything. We rented out our arena to some ropers. Someone left the door to their truck open and when they turned around he was trying to get in the cab of the truck to reach an empty cheeto bag on the dash. One time he was half way loaded in their tack room messing around with empty feed bags. He would eat a burger wrapper straight out of the trash if you weren't watching him (while you were on him). Those ropers HATED him! lol. So they started putting up anything that looked or smelled like food. So he just untied all of their horses that were tied to the trailer and would take them to the very back of the pasture, getting them all riled up. They were always chasing their horses lol. If their kids were playing outside of the arena he would steal their toys and take off with them... good luck finding them. He was probably the most comical horse I have ever seen. The ropers always told us "Why don't you feed that horse so he will leave us alone!" Yeah right.

Oh I will also add that when we bought this horse. After being penned 3 days we let him out to graze. Went in the house, came back and he was gone. He jumped the cattle guard and ran back to where we bought him from! It was about 3 miles. The old owner said he was outside talking with his friend. Then they heard this horse running. They were talking about what idiot would be running his horse on the street like that... then over the hill comes Buckwheat. He runs straight past them and stops at the gate to the pasture lol. When my dad went to pick him up he said "How many times a week do you sell this horse?" lol We had to borrow one of their horses until we could buy him a buddy horse, that was the only way to keep the horse we just bought at home!

Location: The best kept secret in TX | LOL All these stories are a hoot! My gelding untied his buddies as well. He also likes to let himself out of his stall, walk over to the barn lights, flip them on and off and on again and then puts himself back in his stall, door still open. He also enjoys spitting water, stealing tools, nudging me so hard while i'm cleaning his feet I fall over, and he also likes to "laugh" after each event. He toses his head in the air and flips his lip up like he's smelling. OH! and he's great help at the trailer when people are trying to get saddled. He pulls the blankets off the other horses and himself right as you have the saddle mid swing.
Money can't buy horses with these types of personalities. |

Location: Montana | He's definitely a character! A fun horse, no doubt, so far this is the only incident so far. He's also the loviest horse, always the first one at the gate. My mare will just eat out of the bag in the trailer if you don't watch her but has never took the bag out. It is amazing he didn't spill any, at all. He had already had his workout so maybe he thought he needed a treat. Lol |

Location: Gainesville, TX | Zephyr is like this too. She will untie herself, pull blankets off. She pulled the hat off my landlord's head one time at our last place and took off with it. She would pull landscaping tools out of his golf cart. She is into everything. She's also our friendliest horse. You could be in a pasture two miles wide and if she hears people here she comes.

This is the friendliest horse too! I say his name, and he is the first one to be at the gate. Loves attention, loves food too. Last night he did it TWICE while I was brushing out my mare...I was standing right there. Mom says I need to get a video of him, LOL. The say the best ones have the biggest personalities.... |

Your's has almost the same blaze on her face as mine! Maybe it has to do with the markings, LOL. |
