Location: Kansas | Ok so I went to a garage sale yesterday and picked up a really nice couch and recliner for under $50 LOL....bad thing is.....they absolutely reek of smoke, like makes me gag with how strong the smell is. I have them sitting in the shop outside, but is there anyways I can somehow clean it up to get rid of the smell??
I'm going to use one of those hand held carpet cleaners tonight, and try the vinegar, peroxide and dish soap mix because it does have a few dirty spots on it. |

| My MIL gave us a really nice couch, loveseat, and recliner. She smokes. We've had them for 5 years or so. You can still get stench out them if you plop on them hard enough. Febreeze on a regular basis helped. |

LOL.. this is true!
Also wanted to say to the OP.. any parts of the cushions you can remove, like covers, or whatever. Put them in the washer and add a good "gulp" of odoban to the washer too. |

This ^^^ If you use enough Frebreze on it, it will eventually get all the smoke smell out. |

It was a good thing that it came with a couch, love seat, and chair. I had some where to sit while the other ones were soggy! LOL |

| You also might try to talk to a carpet cleaning business that does clean ups from fires. They have some pretty strong stuff to remove smoke smell from everything. I wouldn't give up quite yet!!!
We bought a vehicle many years ago that was smoked in......was told to put a couple of bars of deodorant soap under the seat and it worked wonders.
Good Luck!!! |

Location: southeast Texas | I got a lazyboy lift recliner, from a smoker. Nasty nasty. The lift recliner got a good covering of baking soda. After two months of sitting in an AC storage room, I vacuumed it, fabreezed it, you have to put your nose right on it to smell any thing. I took It to my moms and my brother didn't smell anything. And he has a bloodhound nose for odd smells.
