I'm Looking at switching saddles up a bit,

I have Martins, but im having troubles fitting my new horses to it, its rubbing in the wrong spots no matter how I pad and shim, my other horses it fit and rode great!

But now its soreing them and its throwing me forward to much cause it doesnt fit them.

What does everyone thing about coats vs Tami's

Iv sat in a tami and I love how I felt in it, but they are selling out so fast,

Iv never rode in a coats but iv herd alot of great things about them

I just want something that will fit my narrow gelding and colts and allows me to sit down!

I know nothing about the two

But my guess is you horse has a flat back and needs a flat bar from Martin.

I have one mare who if I ride her in a regular martin it is like riding a rocking horse it moves so much, a flat crown c doesn't move on her at all.

If this is the case you may want to look at a tod Sloan b3 bars as this is the only other saddle that came close to fixing my problems

Again I don't know anything about Coates or semas saddles

I have one horse that is narrow, high wither, and uphill.

another horse, flat as can be, and very downhill.

and about 5 other horses in between.

Everyone here in So Cal is getting in to the Tami Semas saddles. So far everyone really likes them. If I wasn't a stubborn Caldwell junkie, I'd give them a try...

I love the look of Tami's saddles! I am interested in what tree is in them? Flare? Flat? Wide across the loin? Etc. I currently have a Lazy L that I really like but am ready to upgrade.

If you have any questions on the Tami's look up Lynnzie Lindstrom on FB. She is the one taking all the orders for Tami

I'd be interested in hearing the coats stats but the Tami is: standard 6-1/2" gullet, wide is 6-3/4" both 43 angle of the bars. Double J pozzi standard 6-1/2" 45 degree angle, pozzi wide 7" gullet 43" angle of bars.
Im just repeating what I was told.

I have a horse with a FLAT back. I'm having a hard time fitting him as well!

I love love my Coats. Won't ride anything else and I have tried several. I do like the Caldwells as a second choice. The Tami's are made an hour from me and no one in my area that I know are riding them yet.

Also Larry is great to work with and will work with you to make sure your saddle fits your horse.

I just bought a Tami regular fit and I really like it!
I've been a die hard Caldwell person for years but I do like this saddle and will probably purchase another one within the year.

I ride a Jeff Smith, but it's not a Tami.  That being said I do really like my saddle.  It is a cutting saddle with a smaller seat and single skirted/in skirt rigging.  Rides just like a cutter.

I have a friend that rides a lot of my faster horses for me and Coats is all she will ride (although she had a few other brands for a while and eventually sold them all and kept her Coats). I have a lot of different shaped horses with different withers and backs, and her Coats fit all of them except one mutton withered, very flat backed horse I had. She used a Masters saddle on him, but he was the only one that the Coats didn't work on. I'd sure give one a try or try to ride in someone else's if they will let you. I know nothing about Tami's. I ride in a Bob Marshall.

My Tami regular fit is similar to the TG.
I bought it to use on my 3 and 4 year olds.

I've been exhibitioning my sorrel 4 year old in it, so yeah, I'll have it with me most of the time this year.

I take it that Jeff Smith is taking us back to where Larry Coats has stayed all along during this "wider is better" phase.

^^^^ agreed!

I drool every time I c it! But I'll stick to my much cheaper Mike Green Triple Creeks! lol

Some of the Tami and Mary Walker series of Jeff Smith saddles have too high a back for my liking. Love those cutting trees.

It is very similar to a caldwell because original that was a cutting horse tree when the Caldwell lady (Sharon) and the Green's parted ways I think she might have been able to keep the TG tree but Mike still has his original tree. These are cutting trees just like the Jeff Smith saddles. Mike and Janelle still have their tree and you can order a Mike green balanced ride through them made by Triple Creek, but you must go thru Mike or Janelle to order.

I can't speak for the Coats. I've not seen many of the original ones on the East Coast. I'd like to try one tho!

Performance Saddle Company also has a version of a cutting tree I think the Hodges series they had were on the cutting tree but I'm not positive, can't remember what Erica said.
