Staying centered in your turns

I've been having a hell of a time staying centered on my mare around a barrel and the post about weighting your outside stirrup got me thinking. I don't have any video of her and I turning anything yet but I'm wondering if I can get some suggestions anyway.
She turns different than any of my other horses I've run barrels on its like she gets into 4x4 and digs her way around a barrel while my other horses have been more of the top of the ground type of runners that almost slide around a barrel. I've been working on getting her shoulders freed up which has helped because she wanted to get kind of over bent around the barrel as well and occasionally wants to drop her shoulder especially to the right.
I think part of my issue is she's only like 14.1/14.2 hh which is a good hand shorter than anything else I've ever run and she's built like a box to boot. I've been working on staying super balanced and sitting down in slow work and just riding in general but I turned a barrel yesterday and still feel like I'm losing it, all over the place, and out of balance. The girls I ride with say it looks ok but it FEELS wrong so I think it probably is wrong.
Advice suggestions or just tell me to suck it up and its going to take time to get used to her feel?
She's pretty fit, we have a saddle that fits well and she's on a regular farrier and chiropractic schedule
(so am I lol

Is it possible that your stirrups are too long? With out a video it is hard to give advice.

I know
it is possible they are too long, I've been favoring a knee lately and haven't messed with stirrups between dry work and pattern work. I need to get my balance figured out because i feel like I'm getting in her way with this going on.
