| I've only ridden is the crown c but my understanding is the crown c sits you more forward on your crotch and the fx3 puts you farther back on your pockets.
I have a tendency to ride forward anyway, so I found myself really getting dumped on his neck in the turns in the crown c. I ride a Pozzi pro now and love it. |

I agree with this! I've had both- I think the pommel on the FX-3 is taller too- |

Location: Alberta | As mentioned, Crown C tips you forward and FX 3 sets u back. I have a FX3 and LOVE IT!! I did try a Crown C when I was saddle shopping and hated it, made my hips hurt! |

| I have had 2 crown c's (4 total with growing gullet widths) and loved them but I was having trouble sitting in the turns on my colt so sold his crown c for a fx3 and love it! So I sold my other crown c and bought another fx3 for my other horse, I like the way they ride better. |

| As others have mentioned - FX3 has a different pocket, it sits you back more. Crown C has a tendency to sit you up on your hip bones. |

Location: North Dakota | I've only rode a friends crown c for a few minutes and sat in the fx on a stand, but, I can tell you that I felt like I was going to be "gut" by the crown c horn, felt like it was under my chin. Really sits you leaning forward IMO, BUT I'm short from hip to shoulder too. FX felt a lot better really like the swells and the amount of grab you would have with your legs. |

Location: CA | I have a crown c and my mom has both. For reference im 28 yrs old and she is in her mid 50s. The crown c is more open and is not designed to "hold" you in the saddle. The fx3 rides more like a pozzi or a martha josey saddle. It pushes your feet in front of you and your butt back into the saddle. The cantle and swell are taller. I think my mom prefers the fx3 because it feels more secure to her.
I have been trying the fx3. I wanted to love it but i feel like theres just so much saddle up around me. I hate the way the pozzis ride and it reminds me of that. I think the fx3 is best for someone needing security or is getting behind their horse in the turn. The crown c gives you more freedom and is good for someone who rides forward and is comfortable that way. |

I like riding centered over my seat bones, so my crown c feels great to me on most horses. Very centered and balanced. I can still roll my pelvis back in a turn or stop, tho, so I would question seat size and horse fit if you feel like you can't get deep. That said, I don't like it as well on my downhill horse unless I use too narrow a gullet so it sits up more in the front--I can sit down and stay there, but it takes more effort. I'm using a Merrill on him, which has a little more front end and stirrups are more forward. |

This is my opinion as well. Its the first saddle I've ridden in that I feel allows me to sit down and keep my feet under me. If its pitching you forward I would question the seat size.

Location: TN | I've had a Crown C and although I loved how it rode because I like to "sit up" more when riding BUT it threw me forward in the turns when I made a run. I'm long waisted and short legged lol and my horse is a little downhill and drops down into his turns so I was frequently thrown forward and off balance. When he outgrew the Crown C I bought a Martin Racer. I really like the Racer because I can sit down and stay secure in my turns, but just trotting/loping around I'm still getting used to since it has you roll your hips and sit down more than the Crown C did. My main critique of it is I wish the swells where a little higher and/or wider so I could grip a little better with my legs in the turn. Otherwise, I love it. It has helped my horse and I in our turns. From what I understand the FX3 does have higher swells so if I ever get to try one and like how it sits I may go with it when my gelding outgrows his current gullet.
I think the build and turning style of your horse along with your riding style really effects which saddle style you will prefer. If your horse stays more level in their turns and you like to ride up on your crotch more then you would probably prefer the Crown C, but if you need help sitting down or prefer to sit down more then you might like the FX3. |

| I own one of each, and I must say I like them both. The FX 3 is the more secure feeling saddle. I would say it would make a rider a little more confident. Neither saddle throws me forward, but having too much winter fat on my butt sure does! |

| Would love to try a FX3. The Crown C is tipping me forward and getting my legs behind me. I've played with different stirrup lengths but it isn't gonna work. Dang it. |

Location: SE Missouri | Love the crown C. I don't feel out of center when running. I would like to try an FX3 just to feel it. I went through so many saddles and finally felt like I was home when I got my first crown ac. Love them :) |
