So you don't think this filly will be a dud then? http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/lr+dollywood
I just bought her last month and love her so far, but have been worried about her not having much speed. Figured I best just trust ole Mel as he's produced lots of winners. Lol.
To the OP, I've never dealt with Alone Drifter offspring, but I think a lot of the filly posted above and can't wait to see how she turns out! |

She will have speed to burn---I can almost guarantee it. That is one of the biggest misconceptions that Sun Frost and Driftwood horses are not fast. I have ridden a TON of them and they can run---maybe not 440 yards racetrack fast, but they can stop --turn and be at top speed again in the blink of an eye. This is why they have so much success in a wide variety of events be it bulldogging, roping, or barrel racing. |

| They have plenty of speed. You won't get outrun. My stud is Sun Frost X Lone Drifter. He never gets outrun by a cow in the roping pen, especially the ones that are ducking and dodging.

| I have a granddaughter of sunfrost out of a lone drifter daughter and I would have a barn full of that cross if I could. I love my mares work ethic, endless amount of try and they catch on quick. I promise they are fast fast fast though, I've used my mare to turn cows running down the fence and she gets there every time, will even run up and cut off loose horses at barrel races. |

You are right, there is a lot of Cowan's program in her pedigree. I just mentioned Mel Potter as he is the breeder of this filly. |

My mare came from the Cowans and is by PC Redwood Ike out of a PC Boon Dox Cajun daughter... I personally LOVE the program the Potters and Cowans have. They've done a lot for the breed and produce good minded, sound, versatile horses. |
