| I am very interested in a trailer I just found online. It is an '07 Cimarrron 4-horse; aluminum frame/sides with a fiberglass roof. I have never owned or been around many Cimarron trailers and am curious about your thoughts on them - the good, bad and ugly! I am also wondering about the fiberglass roof... Have any of you had a trailer with this before? Curious on their durability, etc. Any and all input is appreciated - thanks! |

| I will never own another my trailer has a fiber glass cap a hail storm from last year weakened the fiber glass enough it became porous and now I am dealing with the insurance company on interior water damage, as I do not use mine during winter.
Even with a visual inspection end of last year I could not see the damage till this spring |

| I don't know if ours is a fiberglass roof but we LOVE ours! Quality trailer that's not had anything major wrong with it and the welding is top notch! |

| I had a CM with a fiberglass roof and I thought it helped keep it cool in the trailer. I had no trouble with it at all. |

| Cimarrons are a top of the line trailer. I have owned several in different sizes. The insulated roof makes a huge difference in keeping your horses cool. I can haul in 100+ heat and horses do not sweat. I also love the one handed latches on the stalls, welds and strong floor. |

Location: Roping pen | There is a lot of DIFFERENT fiberglass roofs out there. Some are just a few millimeters thick but Cimarron and Hart's are around 3/8". They are a single piece board that are sandwiched between the top rails which is almost 100% leak proof.
They did have some issues numerous years ago (maybe a search could tell you more) with them delaminating, but have not heard of any problems since. We had one and loved the roof. The '09 had some structural issues that they warrantied and was good as new once they fixed it. Also, have/had 3 Hart's and they both use the same roof. It is one of the reasons , we bought these trailers.
Besides being cooler, they also don't get dented like single skinned aluminum roofs do with hail dents and/or horse heads. I also think they are quieter and hold caulk better than an aluminum skinned roof.
Good luck! |

Location: Buffalo, TX | Cimarron had a recall on the fiberglass roof around 2005, I believe....we had a couple of them fixed and they paid for it, so everything after that was updated....you should be ok with the 2007...just remember after a hailstorm or if you live in the south where the sun gets really hot in the summer, that you will have more maintinence...that just means you need to check it yearly and if the seal is getting cracked, reseal it...it will cost about $600 to have a shop do it correctly because you have to clean it well first with a special fluid (at least we do) and then you are good to go...they are cool, but everything has it's pros and cons.... |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I have a 2006. Love love love this trailer. The only thing I would change is the plastic latches on drop windows, but they're holding up fine, so not actually a problem. |
