Location: Adopt a homeless pet - www.petfinder.com! | Can anyone recommend a trainer around the OKC metro? Not looking for a barrel horse trainer, just general. I have two horses I want to send off but want them close enough to me so I can go for lessons during/after.
One just needs a tune-up - he bucked me off hard in the fall, (saddle fit and pilot issues), and now I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm chicken to lope . Want someone to ride him and make sure I'm going to be safe before I climb back on, plus patient enough and like working with people to help me get me over the fear.
Second horse just needs some miles. Would like someone to do some ranch/cow work, throw a rope off him, etc.. Hubby has decided he wants to trail ride so just getting this horse ready for him.
Has anyone heard of Chris Bastien in Guthrie? Feedback? |

Only trainer I have ever sent anything to. By far amazing. I sent a mare that was already very broke having barrel issues and her issues ended up having nothing to do with the pattern, but in 30 days Jennifer has this mare just plain moving different. I thought my mare looked good when she went, she looks and rides like a million bucks. My mom, a non horse person told me one day that my mare didn't look lame but she moved totally different now and I said yeah, she lifts her back and uses her hind end now. That was just mom seeing the mare lose playing around in the pasture. I will be sending EVERYTHING to Jennifer from now on. |

| Trampas Crawford... He teamed up with Debbie Caywood over by Purcell. I believe he is the one that started Matt'sFreckledCowboy, Ali Armstrongs gelding, and he starts most of the 2 & 3 year olds the Debbie puts on the pattern. I had him lined up to take one for me but injury struck my house again and that didn't pan out! |

Location: Gainesville, TX | Liana DeWeese is one heck of a hand and she takes older horses too. She can train one on barrels or just every day using. She's spent some time with me for a couple days when I pick my young one up. She's up by Claremore/Tulsa area.
Don't know if that's too far though and you're wanting regular lessons closer. |

I agree, Liana is great, unfortunately just not close enough for regular lessons, which I think I really need right now.
