Sorry I tried to post this on the traiker board but every time I did it would log me out & then tell me my log in information was wrong.
Anyway, next week I'll be making a two day 1,100 mile trip from NV to N. ID. I've been hauling my entire life. I was ok with my decision until my non-horsey husband said "wow, that's too crowded' when I told him my plans. Now I'm second guessing myself. I have a 2002 S&H 4 horse trailer. The stalls are pretty good sizes. We are making the first stall into a stud type panel. I plan on hauling 2 mini donkey's & 3 geldings. Everyone gets along great so that's always helpful. I plan on putting the 2 mini's in the front stall. They are always together, & hate when you try to separate them even by a panel. Then each gelding will obviously have his own stall. I know they will have plenty of room, but now I'm second guessing myself.
What do you all think. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for you help. If your going to tear me apart there is no need for that, so just keep on going. My animals are very well taken care off. I pamper & spoil them. Ever need they have is meet. Thank you & have a great day.

Yes there is but its not very big. The 4th stall has plenty of room. It's not a collapsible one.

Well darn. I was going to say to haul the donkey's in the fourth hole. That is what I do with our kids ponies. The other option is to pull all of your dividers and slant them all in without dividers. I cant imagine putting two of our ponies in one stud stall.

It may not be entirley comfortable the whole time, but I think it would be doable. Had a guy come thru town witth horses smashed into a stock trailer. They were standing sideways. One facing left, the next right and so on. Absolutely no room. But he had a 2 day trip and the one trailer. He made it work. Just stop and check on them.

Try a practice run close to home for the donkeys See how they do first.

If they are mini donkeys both will go in one slot just fine. Put their hay on the floor and one pile on each end. Your trailer would haul better however if they were in the back stall. You should have the most weight to the front.

Robyn Hreeings truck broke down I OK. Some team roper came along and loaded her two horses in his trailer. There were 5 horses in a four horse trailer and one was Firewaterontherocks. Don't know where he hauled them but Robyn's house is about 5 hours from OK.

Thank you all! I really never thought they wouldn't be until my husband said no way. These two mini's are very close all the time. They do not like being separated at all. I guess I just needed to hear from others, so thank you all. Yes, I un they'd be better in the back. I'll talk to my hubby about making the back one for them... When they are nervous or scared the closer they get anyway. I definitely will check up on them. Every time I stop. No matter how brief. Here's to praying for a safe trip. I'm leaving Wednesday with myself my two boys, our 3 dogs, 3 horses & 2 mini's... Whew! 1,100 miles!!

Good luck and have a safe trip. You know your animals better than anybody. You all will be fine.
