Question about oral "pick me up" supplements (for horses)

So I had a thought about 2-3day barrel races, giving my mare b12 orally or red cell or Lixotinic but would it do any good given in just short spurts of are those things that need to be given for a while to make a difference?
I have had her on Lixotinic in the past for an extend period of time and love how much more energy she had, not that I think she feels bad normally, she just had major pep in her step but it's too expensive for daily use and she gets almost to high on it daily.
On the other hand I ran her 2 days in a row last week and she seemed tired day 2 but ran like a top so I don't think she feels "bad" just not "perky." On day 2. I want to go to the shootout in OKC for my bday. Random thoughts.... Lol

Contact Shannon Gattis on FB. She's the Oxy-gen rep for this area. They have lots of products for those exact issues. Feed supplements or pastes for the day of races.

I think red cell is best when given daily, but if you feel she gets too "high" off of it, what if you gave it the week leading up to a big show? Depending on how frequently you go to big shows, that could be the same as feeding daily, but I think that would be enough time to get in their system and work for a big show, but then you can stop it after, and let her levels come down a little bit and boost them back up in a few weeks or month for the next big race.

I add some Red Cell to Chance's feed from Wednesday until Saturday morning if we're going to be running Friday and Saturday, but I don't give it to him Sunday-Tuesday. I tried giving it daily for a couple weeks and he was a major handful so I backed it off to just a few days pre-run and that seems to be a better fit for us.
