Location: Kansas | Chance did something amazing last night - he made a nice enough run to win the rodeo AND earn a shout out on Facebook from Matt! He hadn't won a rodeo in 3 years, plus Washington, KS gives buckles to the event winners and halters to the fast time in barrels each night so we came home with a couple really nice extras. https://youtu.be/Kp8xcfb-BsA |

Location: Kansas | Thanks!! We have run at Washington the last 5 years and gotten 3 checks so it is a must stop on our schedule every year. It helps that they feed contestants for free and pack a huge crowd every night so its a ton of fun every year. |

Oh and thanks! I didn't get to see any other runs because Chance is a HANDFUL after he runs so we went straight to the trailer and I didn't find out my time held until I went up to check with mom the secretary to see if I placed or if it got stupid fast after me.

No my boyfriend Matt McKay. We confuse gate people and rodeo secretaries with our similar but different last names & different hometowns. LOL.

I didn't know he had taken a picture of the buckle and posted it on Facebook until we were an hour & a half down the road and I got a text from a friend congratulating me. since I don't have internet on my phone I had to ask how she found out, and she said Matt had posted it. He must have done it while I was loading horses.....sneaky!!! |

Nope I'm not related to the announcer but have heard the name. My dad rode bulls for years and so I'm constantly being asked if I'm Ron's daughter. It used to get old and now I take it as a compliment to dad.
That post by Matt was so unlike him that I am still a bit stunned. He very rarely posts on Facebook at all, unless its about his horse, so this was totally unexpected.
Hopefully next weekend I can make a post like that about him. He's been in a slump riding bareback horses, but I think he's pretty close to putting things together after tweaking several things last weekend. |
