| So the hubby and I bought two cow bred mares this weekend. Pedigrees attached. Klever has cutting training and is a bit taller than Autumn. Autumn is a total sweetheart and aims to please. I kind of fell in love with her. Both were purchased to further their careers as rope/ranch horses, but I am bored and was thinking of starting one of them on the barrels. Based on breeding which would you start? Just for fun...

Location: NC | I don't know enough about cow lines to really pick. But I would go with Klever 1) she is bigger and 2) I LOVE her reg. name!!!! hahaha good luck who ever you choose. |

I know, I hate to count either of them out! Cow ponies can be so rewarding and fun to train! They just want to please you! |

I also like that she has Doc O Lena in her pedigree :) You are right, her name is pretty snazzy!! :) :) If I start one or both I will update to the thread.

Location: Kansas | both. i have a smart little lena bred colt i am starting and love him. only thing is and this is probably his personality. he will not practice hard at home. i can barely get him to lope the pattern, but he loves showing me what he can do at jackpots. |

| I love Klever's breeding. I like Peppy San Badger horses. I found that they are gritty and full of heart but can take little extra time to train. They don't like to be picked at and the ones I have had are all about the job, not overly affectionate or lovey-dovey.
Autumn has nice lines too but if I was picking of the two on pedigree alone I would chose the other mare. However, if Autumn is that sweet and willing to please she might be a lot easier to train. |
