So my main horse has been having some localized issues to his hock, and fetlock after an incident while he was turned out. HE IS NOT LAME, has been to the vet twice, and the vet released him to run. I'm having doubts on what to do. I've ran him twice since the incident, as I pro rodeo on him. It occured about a month ago, and was given a solid 2 weeks off and I have ran him the last two weekends, just one day each weekend. He's firing, running hard, and acts normal. But, his fetlock in the back continues to consistanly have swelling if he's not in standing wraps, and last night after I ran I went to cold hose him and then wrap him up again and noticed that the front of the fetlock joint was large and hard. There was no heat and he's not favoring it. I'm just not sure if I'm doing it any justice by continuing to compete on him, and Ive had mixed messages from the vet. I just want a solid answer to what I should do, yes or no. He had injured his extensor tendon in his rear leg. The swelling that was in the hock is gone, but continues to stay in the fetlock area. Has anyone ran into this or have any other ideas? I've been exercising him like normal the last two weeks prior to his runs. But he had 2 weeks of rest with no riding.

Were X-rays and ultrasound done?

If not find a vet who will do an extensive assessment

If X-rays and ultrasound were done, I would get a copy and send it to another vet have them read it, then go from there.

I would not continue running the horse
