I have a 2008 and love mine...might not be much help but it's close to the same year! I pull our big steel 4 horse stock combo with it with no problems! Definitely don't have the power that a diesel does but it still pulls it well.

What's your mileage like? Any red flags that I should be aware of?

I just have a teeny little 2 horse right now, but some year down the line want to upgrade to a 2-3 horse with weekender. I think this pickup will do the trick.

I get about 16 mpg on the highway without the trailer and around 12-13 pulling. So it's not too great but not horrible either. I've only had mine about 4 months and haven't ran into any red flags yet. I did buy the extended warranty just in case! Mine is my daily driver and so far I love it!

Thanks for the input. I'm working on the deal this afternoon, I think...

Pretty good truck, kind of hard on gas. But pulling with any gas motor you won't get great gas mileage.

We have an 04 and absolutely love that truck. It pulled everything we asked and more. We averaged about what everyone says in mileage. We just retired it to the "work" truck with over 300,000 miles and bought a new one to haul the horses with.

RUNNNNNN.  We had one for my wife.  First the motor went...dodge wouldn't cover it.  Then we fix the motor to the tune of $8000.  Then about 9 months later the transmission went.  I couldn't get rid of that sucker fast enough.

Yes, believe or not, a gas engine. This probably isn't normal for every one of the trucks but we have been very very fortunate with ours.

Yes  This was back when they swore they would offer the warantee on life of the truck.  Just a fancy sales pitch.  It only had 40K miles when the motor went.
