Csi pads are my favorite, yes they are pricey, but hold up, made in the USA, and if your saddle doesn't quite fit properly ( too big or dipping down on the shoulders, I find the pad will compensate)

most of my older horses I ride in a crown c and I use the csi and don't need to shim.

My colts I ride in anything close to fitting, I do believe the csi pad allows me to ride more variety of shapes with the same saddle without hurting the horse

5 Star
I've heard CSI pads are good too. I am just a firm believer in 5 Star, I put one on my mare and she completely transformed under saddle.

I loved my CSI but is WAY too thick with my current saddle. Otherwise my old 5 star was ok. No pad has really tittilated me and I have to use 1/2" pads, so that REALLY limits what is out there.

Thank you all. Currently I am looking at 5 Star, Best Ever, and the new Relentless barrel pad.

5 Star and CSI.

I prefer CSI because they seem to stay in place perfectly, I also feel like it has held up better than my 5 stars did, but 5 star is still one of the best on the market the quality in both pads is outstanding.

eta: I also think when choosing a saddle pad you have to consider saddle fit and what type of pad you need. Choosing the correct pad is nearly as important as a correct fitting saddle

I love my 5 Stars...if I didnt have them, I'd get a CSI. I went to a horse expo and stopped at their vendor booth, they had pieces of other pads and you put them on your hand and pressed on this weight thing...then you tried theirs. I was impressed.

Just worked with Rockyroad for our 4th 5 Star....custom this time. Boy, was she a pleasure to work with. Can't thank her enough for the help and pricing. I'm sold on 5 Star. Love them. I haven't tried a CSI, but it's because we are all completely happy with our pads from 5 Star.

IMO all you have to do is feel all 3 in your hand and you'll know which one is the best... 5 Star!
