Member Posts: 39	I'm in the market to buy a new saddle. I need something with the narrow/semi quarter horse bars. Just looking for input on people's input on favorite brands. I have a Rocking R now and love the deep seat, but need something that fits my horse better. Thanks!!

Experienced Mouse Trapper Posts: 3106 Location: North Dakota	If you're looking for SQHB look at the camarillo saddles by courts, if you're looking for used in good shape look for a #38 tree. Courts especially the camarillo saddles are very well built and have a deeper seat. I recently bought a Jeff Smith Mary Walker saddle....

Red Bull Agressive Posts: 5981 Location: North Dakota	My marlene Mcrae Special EFFX was VERY comfortable for me. Didn't always have luck with it fitting horses though. My Meleta Brown is very well made and is pretty versatile as far as fitting horses. It's too small for me so it's not exactly comfy for me, but I've watched my sister ride in it (who it fits) and it allows her to ride more balanced than any of her saddles. She loves it. My next saddle will probably be a martin.

I've owned many brands over the years and now I will not ride in anything but a Caldwell. I own 4 barrel saddles and one cutter by them. I would recommend looking for a used one, as they hold their value and are built to last.
