Any BB's live around Dallas oregon or within about an hour from there? I've got a kiddo I know that lives there that would absolutely die to spend some time with a horse person. She's 13 and the first time she got to ride she cried happy tears so I would like to maybe find somebody who would spend a little time with her because it really pulled at my heartstrings.

Nope, there is a Dallas, Oregon, and The Dalles, Oregon both.
Been at The Dalles once for Sure, not sure if I've been to Dallas or not.
Try Kim Smith (Best Fit Horse Brokers) as she is brokering a horse (that I'd like to have) from Dallas, Oregon right now and she may know somebody in the area.

We have a girl thats 12 who is the same thing pretty much. They just moved here. Her Dad works with my husband and her mom is in a rehab program. Horse crazy girl but we dont have a horse here for a beginner to ride and givin all she has been through, this is something she really needs. Sooooo, she comes and helps do all chores, and we pay for riding lessons for her that has lesson horses. She really has always wanted a horse, so this way, she gets to spend all the not so glamerous hours cleaning stalls, bathing horses and leading everybody in and out of the pasture, putting halters on, ect. Dad is open to buying her a horse, but wants to make sure this is something she really wants to do and is committed to.
I hope your girl finds some place that will take her under their wing. We need more youth into horses!

So so so true Threecorners, I live in Idaho and I met this kiddo through her grandma who lives here and I really wish I lived closer to this girl because this kind of thing just hurts my heart! When a kid wants it that bad they should have the opportunity to try.

Thats right. There are less and less people into horses these days. In order for the horse market to thrive, we need the customer base! That means we have to keep generating that customer base. I also think it's alot better to give these kids the opportunity now, then it is to deal with a drug addict pregnant welfare mom later. Horses teach kids so many awsome life lessons.
