Location: ND | My 3 yr old colt, Basic Black Ruger. I'm more than happy with how this baby is growing up. He's by my favorite stallion who passed away 2 yeas ago, Basic Black Spruce and out of a daughter of Red Eye Special. A few days ago it was good & hot out so instead of riding decided to give him a bath & shoot some photos!

Thanks! I got the halter through Rooted H Tack, they had an ad on here almost 2 years ago with a halter similar to mine & I just had to have one! |

Location: ND | Thank you all for the compliments on Ruger. I love this colt....NEVER in my life did I want to keep a stallion as I've worked with enough of them for customers that they just don't appeal to me! But I like Ruger and all the colts I rode by his sire enough that I'm giving him the chance. He's so easy to train, he's never seen the inside of a roundpen or arena but yet I can ride him all over the ranch bareback & he's maybe got 45 rides on him. He's loping nice circles & simple lead changes, extends & collects his trot, breaks at the poll & is nice & soft, stops, backs, pivots....he's just FUN! And I don't mind just looking at him either!!! |
