Location: stray dump capital of the world | I have a horse with a nasty wound. I have never used Underwoods, but I recall reading a lot about it. If anyone uses, please advise as to how you treat wounds with it. Thanks! |

| Clean it, put on the Underwoods, sometimes we just draw it up in a syringe to squirt it on, sometimes we use a spray bottle. Add baking POWDER, not soda and you are done. |

| Also, even though you're going to want to, don't wash the wound clean from old medicine. Just put more on, and more soda, and keep going. |

Location: CTX | yep, what the others said. First time clean it, then put underwoods on and add baking powder. After that just keep adding underwoods and baking powder.
My terrier got in a fight with my heeler, she ripped a chunk out of his buttcheeck. I could stick my whole finger in there it was that deep. It took a couple of weeks, but you can't see even a tiny scar now.

| I do not care for underwoods, u need to clean a wound daily especially in the early stages due to infection and observation of the wound. I have tried underwoods and did not have good results, so of course changed regimen. I like hydrogel on wounds it also debrides the wound. I am a nurse and had used hydrogel on people with good results , so tried on horses. Just my experience |

Well I've used Underwoods probably a good 25 times of all sorts of injuries from a small scrape to a gaping wound and have yet to have it let me down. My horses don't have a single scar anytime I've used Underwoods on their boo boos.
You portably cleaned it like you weren't supposed to. That defeats the entire purpose.
Follow the directions. Apply liberally and apply a few times a day and it will work. As long as you stay diligent. Just ask wyoming barrel racer about her experience with Underwoods. It was nothing short of miracle work.
Call the number on the website. They can help you find a place close to you that carries it. If not, they can send you a few bottles pretty quick! They're great people to work with. |

Location: Where I need to be | I know a lot of people like underwoods, but I do not. I used it on a mare with a really nasty cut, followed the directions and ended up with proud flesh. Will not use it again. |

The day of the injury I had my vet out and followed his advice to the T. The wound had bone exposed, so clearly I wanted his opinion plus antibiotics in her. The bone is now completely covered. Thursday, he wanted me to change treatment to an ointment that is only available thru a vet. He is strictly a mobile vet, and I have been unable to make contact with him to get the ointment needed. Rather than leave it unprotected, I had a choice to go back and wrap, which he had me stop after a few days, or find an alternative to keep proud flesh from growing and allow it to dry out until I can either make contact with him or Wednesday when I've scheduled an appointment with another vet to have it looked at. Several friends upon the initial injury said to go straight to Underwoods. I was just too much of a pansy to do it.
Underwoods must use be like liquid gold. I had to go 2 towns over to find any.
