I feed a really nice Alfalfa/Orchard mix hay. Just got a new delivery from the same grower. THe hay I had before from him had a little darker green alfalfa and orchard. THe new load is a little lighter, not quite as lush but still very high quality hay. My horses wont eat it!!!!! Great. It looks fine and smells fine. Clean. Horses are extremely frustrating. Hopefully they will eat cause that's what they are getting! LOL

It is used by a lot of custom baler guys that is sprayed on with the baler on hay that is just a little too wet to bale and it will keep the hay from going into heating and discoloring and molding the hay. Some horses will not eat it as it had a little smell to it.

LOL!!!! That's a joke right? Someone on here posted they were trying to get their horse to eat some additive in the feed. They counted out 15 pellets and mixed them in with all the rest of the grain.... Came back later and everything was gone.. except those 15 pellets.

In our area, some alfalfa farmers fertilize the crap out of the alfalfa and my horses won't touch it, but it makes for great dairy farm hay

Who the heck knows. I will say this, he must have got hungry cause by the time I got home he had eaten all his hay. I picked up some straight alfalfa and Will mix it in.

LOL spoiled ponies

Our ponies eat "peasant hay" when they aren't being hauled or are on stall rest and the first time they go on vacation and get it they are like "da heck is dis?" its quite humorous to watch a spoiled pony refuse regular orchard grass when they are used to high quality alfalfa.

Oh yes. I mixed in some premium alfalfa this evening and they are scarfing it down (mixed with the other hay) my horses look phenomenal and the curost is the bomb. I promised them to be spoiled if they work for me. Both are running turning machines! Lol
