What do you do to help your horses focus a little more at competition. My horse just looses that edge at competition because he's just really not focused if that makes sense. The announcer, other horses. He's behaved, just not quite focused.

THE has Smooth Focus just for this kind of situation. All natural, competition safe. They also have calming cookies, but it doesn't sound like that is what you need since he behaves. It can also be added to Muscle Mass or Performance Formula as a special blend if he isn't so bad that he needs to full strength of it in Smooth Focus.

I have a mare that is exactly like what you are talking about. I use Oxygen Jailbreak on her, made a world of difference.

Just depends on the horse.  I use Animal Element in the Zone and I also like the THE Calming Cookies. I will also haul to shows close to me and not compete to give them all of the exposure without the pressure to compete.  A rider will give ques of nerves under competition conditions also that they don't give at home.  Some horses just need something on race day. Whether that be because they are young and need some focus or older and need the focus.

How old is the horse? I hauled a 2 yr for showmanship and he just got better and better everywhere we went. Sometimes it just takes some time and getting them out and about.

I have found that getting my horse away from all the hustle and bustle for warming up helps her tremendously. She gets real anxious. If I take her to the back 40 to warm her up and then get off and let her settle for 5 mins or so before a run she is much more relaxed and ready. I haven't found anything to give that helps her.

Cur-Ost Adapt & Calm.  I find that it just helps them focus.  It's all natural and helps them deal with the release of cortisol and the affects of stress (inflammation causing ulcers, etc.) on the body internally.   Top dress it 2 - 3 days out and then 2 -3 days after.

Confidence EQ made by CEVA.. . "equine appeasing pheromone that signals an environment is safe and secure. It's a gel that you use to put along the bottom edge of their nostril I used it on my mare at her first rodeo, she did awesome. No spooking at the flags, loud speakers, went in there and hunted all 3 barrels. I feel it took that "scare factor" away.. not her run.

I tried this too but did not have the same affect for mine. Didn't see any improvement. Tried Animal Element In The Zone paste. Noticable improvement.

Every horse is just so different, that there is no one magic cure all. My one horse has to have a buddy. His buddy has to travel with him & stand @ the trailer. I can warm him up & run without the buddy, but once I'm done warming up, he wants a friend to stand by. It doesn't matter who the horse is, he just wants a friends. I've used THE daily edge with the calmer built into one, and am currently using Pozzi Relax on one. You really have to play with stuff to see what works. That being said, I think that (I know this is so over said) but you need to rule out any soreness or ulcers. From my personal experience, those 2 things cause the horses to loose focus as well. If the horse hasn't been hauled much that may be the problem as well. It all takes time, experience & lots of wet saddle blankets to figure out....

Shoer came out today as a matter of fact and my normally impatient, pawing 4 year old " child" just stood there calm and secure as ever. I gave him is adapt and calm about an hour before he got there. It's 24 bucks for a 70 dose bottle. Best " &@&)@" ever.

I give mine Relax by Oxygen. Great stuff. I would also like to point out that when I give mine hay, they get extra jacked. Couldnt tell you why. So I dont feed mine hay until after they make their runs.

Yep!  Understatement of the day without a doubt.  And the combo of the Total Support and the Adapt & Calm will just shock the crap out of you!  LOVE Cur-Ost and Nouvelle Research!!!!
