I am a first time breeder and I am expecting two foals for 2016

Because I work a night shift and I am bored I thought I would post the pedigrees of my two expecting foals.
If they are both stud colts I will list both for sale as I prefer to ride mares. If I get one of each I will keep the filly and list the stud colt.

So here are the pedigrees of the expecting foals

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/bay+star+unborn+foal

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/sorrel+star+unborn+foal

So based on strictly pedigrees what do you guys think they will be worth once born??? I know there is all sorts of other things to take into account conformation, disposition ect but we won't know those things till they arrive so.... just pedigree's for now.

I should also mention they will be Canadian born foals and will have a CBHI Super Stakes certificate applied to each one which will allow them to run in the futurity which has a estimated pot of over $118,000.

No advice on the price, but those are some nice babies.

I know when I purchased mine she priced me 2x the breeding fee and that was giving me a deal. She also guaranteed a live foal - and would receive first choice if I didn't want whatever came out. LOL!

Thanks for the lovely comments.

Yes I am very excited for Bay Star's foal as the horse leading the Canadian Derby standings is a Eye Take Time daughter.

It really depends on what the mares did themselves and what they produced. If they haven't done anything, the average price would be double or double and a half the stud fee.

This will be Sorrel Star's first foal. She ran on the track as a two year old and was stakes placed and won $1,290 in only three outs. Both her sire and dam were paint racing Champions and her dam was even the former APHA 300 yard World Record Holder. She was started on barrels before a injury ended things.

This will be Bay Star's second foal. She foaled a colt in 2013 sired by Hezgottabefamous (Dash Ta Fame x Call Me Wrangler). She earned $6,787 on the track, was stakes placed and also earned her ROM. Also started on barrels but ended up on the back burner.

Most people will price foals 2x-3x the stud fee. It just kinda depends.

The mares haven't produced anything (yet?), but being track earners gets me looking at them. I like race mares. I'd definitely be looking at that bay colt or filly though!

The market is not as strong for paints as it is for quarter horses. You have two solid running bred babies here. With both studs' fees being 750 and the mare being decent in terms of performance, I would say $1500-2500 is a reasonable estimate on what these foals will bring depending on sex and conformation.

No help on price, but wanted to say that I have a MJP granddaughter o/o of my Treasured Too mare. She's a yearling now and a doll! I don't think I could put a price on her
Congrats and good luck!
