Location: Peach State | Normally I will poultice after a run, cold hose, then slap on the clay paper then standing wrap. And rinse off the next morning. I've seen some people just hose down the horse then put the clay all up the way up the legs and no wrap. Just wondering if that method seems to be effective because of clearly much quicker.
How does everyone else use poultice? |

Location: MD | wrapping will keep the poultice wet longer. The longer that it is wet, the longer that it will continue to draw. Once it dries, it won't draw any more of the inflammation. Typically though, it will stay wet long enough to do the trick, even without being wrapped. |

I don't wrap because I'm lazy, but I still see good effects, especially if I cold hose the following morning to remove the dry clay. |

Location: Southern Indiana | I only wrap when there's swelling or am dealing with an injury. After a run I just slap it on thick. I just do the areas I'm most worried about, which would be where I've had previous injuries. |

it also helps draw out infection in cases of an abcess |

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | I don't wrap because my guy gets itchy. Very sensitive to everything. You can do both ways and will still get results.
Best place to get the brown paper from is your feed bags, just cut them and pull them apart (of course depending on what feed you use) |

Location: My perfect world bubble | I don't wrap in the summer because of the heat. I'll wrap in cool weather or the witner. I poultice up past the knees and hocks and also use Sore No More. Dover saddlery sells rolls of the brown paper.
