Location: Arkansas | what the hell is this!
I found a snake in the kitchen sink. It's no bigger than an earth worm, solid black with a yellow ring around it's neck. It does have a head and mouth, but like I said, it's no bigger than agood size earth worm. Thin pointy tail. About 4 inch long when stretched out. I could probaly stomp it. LOL But it kinda fun to watch it curl up when I touch it with a steak knife. It was looking for a way out, so I picked it up with a pair of tongs, threw it in a Wal Mart bag, took it out side. Dumped it out of the bag,, it curled up in a ball, then I stomped it!
The thing is, how did it get in the sink (come up the drain, we're on a septic tank) and what was it!! |

Time to grab some gas cans and lighters!!!! I couldn't deal. I walked by a spare bedroom in our house a couple years ago and thought it was strange that a bootlace was out from under a room we never go in.... And then it was really strange since my husband doesn't have any boots that lace up! Thank goodness the small ones are kinda easier to catch! |

Not unless you have some sort of vent or other access on your tank or your drainage field. If you do, sure, snakes can travel through water just fine and something that small could slither through almost any hole.  |

My house was apparently built on a ground rattler den---it used to be quite common to come home (usually at night) and have my cats in a circle in the living room floor. . . . surrounding a snake they had killed or were playing with. Very unsettling to say the least!! And I am the world's worst about walking around the house in the dark. They also seem to love a swim in the in-ground pool. I love living in the country!! |

Komet, that is exactly what it looked like!
Yes, it was in the kitchen sink. Didn't have any Drano, but poured about a quart of bleach down the drain.
I really don't give a rap if they are harmless or don't get any bigger, I just don't want to find it slithering around in the sink!!
There better not be any relatives lurking around! I am not a fan of anything that slither! I didn't have any problem stomping
my size 7 shoe on it and doing the squishy back and forth dance on it! |

I did find half a can of Drano in my stash of house hold goodies this morning. Emptied it. Hope the Drano and bleach don't eat up the pipes! They're plastic looking. LOL |

 Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I doubt it came up your drain. It likely fell into your sink from your counter. If you have a window or something near by that it got in and slithered to close to the ledge. Kinda like when a mouse falls in a bucket and can't get out, the sides are too smooth for them to grip and get away. |

I was canoeing with an old friend of mine one day and we brushed a tree limb, and a snake dropped off the limb into the middle of the canoe. Well. he is terrified of snakes and was getting ready to jump into the water. Knowing how he felt about snakes, I was expecting just that and I told him not to do that because that was where I was about to throw it. I reached down and grabbed it's tail, picked it up and dropped it over the side. He still thinks I'm crazy.. LOL!!! |
