So my saddle is sitting on a saddle rack, about 4ft off of the ground on the barn wall. I usually have a blanket over the top of it, but the one time I forget, a barn cat used it as a toilet. Gross. And not a nice neat little pile that dried. This must have been a sick cat. So now I have dried cat poop on the seat, down the fender and stirrup. It's rough-out leather too, so even more fun to clean.

Any advice on the best way to clean this? I'm really hoping it isn't stained.....

I would clean it with the cats dead body......sorry.  Seriously, soap and water, maybe a heavy bristle brush and then oil when it's dry.

What kind of soap would you use? Dish soap, shampoo, etc?

I would probably use dawn dish soap, blue kind since it is mild.

Ummm yeah, the "cat" pooped on your saddle. I think you need to come out and tell the truth in the "What's your embarrassing story??" thread.

Um, it's definitely cat crap. The worst kind. At least it's clean now after soap and water, still not sure how it's going to turn out when it's completely dry and oiled.
