| Where I live in SOuthern California there are 5-6 Current and Former NFR qualifiers all within about a 20 mile radius. Yep, its buck up or shut up for us here. You can't sneak away to any small jackpots anywhere anymore. lol |

Location: Heart of Texas | Happens all the time in Texas. I have had to step up my riding 10 fold since moving here. Its quite common to compete against Kay, Charmayne, Brittany, etc. The crazy thing is, I see other people out run them all the time. Just proves that the best of the best isn't necessarily the ones at the NFR. There's a lot of really talented horses and riders that either don't have the money to haul all over or just don't have the desire.
P.S. Yes I still stare like a crazy fan though :) |

| OK well I am going to date myself, back "whenever" I used to run against Martha Josey. Yes I stared, but eventually didn't as I started working for her when she put her clinics on. Did that for 15 years plus. |

| Yep, you can really gage where you are at runnng at some of these local races. I am thrilled when I pull a 3D check and ocassionally hit the 2D. I use to run against Talents Dark Angel all the time- talk about a beautiful run to watch. |

I saw that! 15.2 is almost unheard of in that pen- Joy is one of those that you watch to set the pace. |

| Most of the local barrel races that have any kind of added money are WPRA approved. The are a lot of girls that run here that are hauling big time. They decide they can use a little pocket change and show up. |

Bastrop Texas! I didn't know you were in Bastrop! We're neighbors, : ).
I was getting ready to make my way over to the alley after my name was called on Saturday and someone sitting in the stands leaned over, waved at me....."hey doc....it's _____ " ( couldn't hear the name). I didn't recognize her and figured it was someone from BHW or FB. Maybe that's why I made a crappy run......screwed up my focus. Yeah, that's it. Either that, or I can always say it was bad ground. I can always b!tch about the ground.
Anyway, Joy, I hope we get a chance to meet! |
