| I am looking for a good equine vet in Oklahoma for my mare. Wanting someone with a lab who can do blood work that day, thermal machine, and just an all around great soundness vet. Needing my mare checked over from head to tail. Someone who is honest and won't just start injecting everything in hopes that will fix it. You can PM me if you would rather not post here or if it's not allowed. Needing somewhere I can get her in very quick also. Thanks in advance!! |

Location: Oklahoma | OSU should have everything you need. Dr. Burba did a bone scan for me earlier this summer. I was pleased and would use him again.
I've never used Marcotte or Oakridge, but have heard many good things about both. Oakridge is a nice facility. They seemed very kind and caring the few times I've been there with a friend. |

If I were going to use OSU, I would insist on Dr. Burba....I was not impressed with any of the others that I encountered there as far as sports medicine goes.
My absolute favorite is Dr. Major at Oakridge, he's expensive, but 100% worth it. |

| I go to Oakridge Equine. I've seen Drs Zubrod, Hague, and Major, and think they are all great. They will recommend what they think is best, and I don't feel like they do anything that isn't necessary. |

| Dr. Hood with Oklahoma City Equine Clinic. She is young and semi new but dang she is amazing. Spent a few years with Dr. Honas and really is an awesome vet. She just started at this clinic a few months ago. |

I prefer Dr. White in Salisaw. |

| I actually had an appointment with Dr White on Friday and he had a family emergency come up. His office wasn't sure when they would be able to reschedule and with my work schedule the following weeks, I had to do something else. I have heard great things about Dr White though and would have loved to be able to use him. Unfortunately, I only had a few select days to be able to take my mare and I just couldn't wait!! |

Location: Oklahoma | A client of mine just used Dr. Marcott for a thorough pre purchase exam. She was very comfortable with him as her vet in CA corresponded with Dr. Marcott over what needed to be done. |

| I have used Dr. Marcotte in the past and I will say he is a good vet. I did have one bad experience with the clinic though where I had an appointment for my gelding that we were treating for EPM and I drove 3+ hours for this follow up appointment for the office gal to tell me that he wasn't in on that day and she had called me prior to that and told me they had to moved my appointment. I never received that phone call. She argued with me about it and I asked if she really thought I would drive 3+ hours to go to them if I had honestly known Dr. Marcotte was not going to be there??? So, his wife said she would go watch my horse move around. I did have a little bit of an issue with that. And, I do feel like he is a little pricey but what isn't anymore. Honestly, after that bad experience, even though it was not his fault, I just decided I wouldn't go back there. They did nothing to try to help me come back on a different day and I never received a phone call after that.

Thank you everyone! I have an appointment with Dr. Hague tomorrow!!
Good luck, and I hope they are able to help. They have so many diagnostic tools, but what they can see with just trotting one around is amazing. I'm sure you will, but be sure to go outside and watch them (assuming they're doing a lameness evaluation!). Ive learned so much from watching them do this. Top-notch facility! Let us know how your appointment goes. |

| Oakridge is expensive, but there's a reason. They are worth the expense. Good luck to you. Dr. Hague is great. Major is also. Dr. Lamb is back too. All good. |

Location: Missouri | Your post title says reasonable...as in reasonably priced? If so, Marcotte is definitely not your man. I like him and like that he spent time with me, but when he priced his injections to me after the exam, I literally cried knowing I couldn't afford to help my horse. Dr. White is very reasonably priced, imo. I felt a little rushed during the exam, and he didn't offer a lot of information. That being said, he did answer my questions and I would definitely use him again.
