Perspective: It is so true its all in how you look at things. I cant believe that I am gonna admit this to all of you! My property is bout 7 acres A creek runs behind property and divides my place. so one side is the house and shop the other side is the horse pasture and barn. Pasture is divided into two sections. one horse stays on one side and the other on the other side. It is a little hillie in places and not very even throughout. Well I have been there 6 years and have always said I dont have much of a riding place and have hauled to arenas and friends houses or just lope circles at my house. I hate hauling to ride. Sad to say it has taken me six years to figure this out! I was mowing the pasture the other day and started thinking ok no excuses figure out a way to utililized my pasture better. So I got the four wheeler and drove around and figured out what paths I would need to take and how long like if I want to go a mile and then I realized the way it is setup will make us go fast and have to slow down in certain areas therefore transitioning I got to do this the other day for the first time and boy what a difference and now have a little obstacle course all right at my house! So moral of the story is instead of saying I can't do this or that Is say what can I do
I am always pretty much positive and work on it all the time What an eye-opener for me!
So moral of the story Its all in how you look at things!

That is an excellent Idea!  My place is all flat - I WISH I had hills!  lol

You are exactly right!

I'm in the 'armpit' of the town I live in.

If you move your place next to mine I'll let you ride in my nice flat sand arena if you let me trot and lope your hills!

Your place sounds exactly like mine. We can't afford a arena but even if we could it's too hillie. During a pure melt down about not having anywhere to work barrels for a problem I was having. Daddy told me if I would quit focusing on what I don't have and focuse on what I do have then I might just come up with a solution. Like the fact that all these hills may not be great for sprinting but they are perfect for long trotting.
