I've read a few different articles on what different whorls and swirls mean on horses foreheads, I've never had one like this, I noticed yesterday there are twins right next to each other! Hope it's not a bad thing, if you believe in that stuff hah! Anyone have any unique whorls!?!?

Β I have a couple with the double swirl....I hope you get better feedback then I am going to give you......The can be a little bipolar. ....Flighty in certain conditions.Takes a calm rider to direct their attention. They can get distracted very easy. Very curious. Get themselves into trouble.. high energy. BUT....they will give you everything they have and sometimes way much more. With alot of patience can make a nice horse. My husband HATES them

To me nothing. I've had horses with all sorts of whorls and swirls. Some of them kind of fit the description they say they are and some couldn't be further from correct.  All they're good for is as an addition descriptor on the papers.

IMO it's kind of like horoscopes with people. I don't really believe the whirl pattern on a horse's head determines their personality. haha but each to their own.

Years ago there was actually an article in horse and rider about swirls.

From what I remember and what I have experienced is two swirls are the hard headed horses. More prone to blow up, buckers, but if you get through to them, they are awesome horses.

A single swirl a little above the eyes and off to the right is supposed to be the best horse, smart, kind, calm.

My crazy gelding fit his whorl/swirl chart to a T. Hard to handle, Super Smart, Stubborn, bi-polar, but will work the hardest when they want to. So it worked for him, take that as you will.

The most hard headed, bucking counterfeit horses I have ever known were all single swirl horses.  My 2 favorite mares have both had double horizontal swirls.  Easy for ME to deal with and very sweet, calm, and level headed.

I have 3 horses with double swirls. They all are the most laid back easy going horses I know. I have a single whirl and he can be quite the ass.

I don't think there is anything to it. I have had luck with lots of double swirl, nothing like what people say. My last double swirl was super sweet nice horse.

Double whirl horses are definitely "special".  In the pic you showed, the whirls are low, which is good.  Double whirl horses (low or high) are Great horses, just fragile and if handled with care & taken along slowly, are Awesome!!  High double whirled horses are typically super fragile minded and flighty, and I've owned quite a few.  Lower double whirls are still fragile but a litte more stable, LOL.

It's Good!

Crap that acually describes my double whorled gelding to a T. He is the best barrel horse anyone could ask for. LOVES his job, is so solid and consistent, but my gosh he is a PITA to deal with the rest of the time!

The greatest horse I have every rode was double swirled - rodeod on him for years  - he was multi talented - hazed on him - TR on him & run barrels.  Smartest horse I ever threw a leg over.
