Where do you find off the track horses, either quarter horses or Thoroughbreds? I've tried looking it up and haven't found very good answers...especially close to Montana. Thanks!

CanterUSA.org They usually have more thoroughbreds, but they have been adding a lot of quarters lately.

Wide Open Race Horses!! Donna Weeks is by far the best person to buy an off the track QH. I've purchased 3 from her. They are all sound and sane. She's located in Alabama.

I would think so too...and there is a track in Great Falls as well, but darned if it isn't hard to find someone! So few of them run quarters anymore it seems too.

I am part of a racehorse syndication where we all own certain percentages of the horses, but we have our "team trainers" "jockeys", etc.  It's Horseplayer's racing club and we often give away or give for cheap our horses when we're done with them.

Mine came from the Retired Race Horse Project thru a rescue out of NY. There's a rescue group in Ky that I follow that posts some NICE horses that are sound..

Find some one who breeds for them. That is how I purchased all of mine. I knew each of them from the time they where born until they were in my barn. That way I knew their entire back ground. The breeders became close friends so I always had first dibs, also I got alot of their seconds that they didn't send to the track.

Hello!

We raise and run quarter horses. We always have some for sale coming out of race training. We always guarantee them and have references. Check out our website: www.lostforkhorses.com. We have their mothers and siblings for you too look at as well. We will have a couple for sale this October when they come back from Prairie Meadows. We are in the SW part of Montana.

We also have a facebook page A&M Racing and Lost Fork Horses. We keep updates for the race stable and it is usually more current.

Thanks! I've looked before but haven't seen any recently, I'll keep watching though. :
