Location: White Mountains of AZ | Well went to the ER Friday for a week of upper abdominal pain, and upon testing, they informed me I was almost 7 weeks pregnant! Bit of a shock... lots to do before she ( I like to think it's a girl ) comes. So any advice, tips, suggestions of any kind would be so greatly appreciated!

I just started bawling from shock ha... And the DR. just said it so...bluntly lol. As soon as he came back into the room he was like " Well got some results back, and you are very much pregnant!" I asked if he was serious and he just nodded his head and looked at the ground lol. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | Congrats! I'm currently at 23 weeks. If you need anyone to ask questions, feel free. I understand, lol. Definitely buy What to Expect When You're Expecting. Huge encyclopedic book that explains pretty much everything going on. |

| The best advice I could give you girls that are fixing to have those beautiful babies, is let them fall asleep on your shoulder/chest as much as possible! That is the sweetest, most comforting memory I have of my babies. I got to where I hated to put them down. Of course, you have to, but it was always really special when I had the opportunity to do that. Oh! One more thing - if you don't have a big, comfortable rocking chair, get one! I used that rocking chair until I about wore it out. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | The book noted above is definitely worth getting. I read it as well. And a gliding chair is what I had. Used it every single day.... And night. When you get farther along, don't be afraid to let people help you. I was very much "if I can still do it, I will". But I think it became discouraging for my husband because he wanted to help and be a part of it. Plus, why not let people do things for you? You have a LIFE in your tummy. Amazing!!! |

2 years ago my best friend found out she was 5 months pregnant. She had no idea. She had even had back surgery when she was about 3 months along. I guess the doctors missed that one lol. |

Location: White Mountains of AZ | Well my landlord who is like my adopted mom/grandma is 1) super super excited about this baby and 2) has been there done that with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. So she is giving me a ton of advice. And I'm always so used to just being able to do things on my own, but she makes sure if I get horse feed, I'm not the one unloading it, and making sure I have crackers. She is being so amazing, not sure what I'd do without her!!! And since I, myself am adopted, the mom who adopted never had kids of her own..Just me but I was already 7 yr old when I came to her. So she doesn't really have a clue! And my adopted parents aren't really talking to me much at the moment at all, so it's nice to have someone I can talk to about all this.... I'm just scared. I want to eat the best things, and exercise and do all this stuff cuz I want this baby to be healthy!!! ahhhhh!!! |

I was the same way, wanting to eat the healthiest I could; fruits, veggies, prenatals. Wipe out fast food and coffee. But my body had other ideas... I had bad morning sickness, that was all day sickness. I couldn't keep anything down. Couldn't eat a bite or a sip of water without throwing up almost immediately. Prenatals made it even worse. Oddly enough, McDonald's and iced coffees were the only thing I wouldn't get sick on.... I had an awful diet that ended up in a perfectly healthy, beautiful little girl. If your body allows it, be healthy. If it doesn't, I wouldn't worry too much.
But I am so happy you have someone you are so close with to get advice and help from. Don't stress out too much. You have plenty of time to get ready. |

I get night sickness/early early morning sickness. Like I usually start feelin nauseous in the evening then get sick a few hours later. Except last night. But I won't go into detail !! Yogurt seems to help. I know my landlord made beef stroganoff and I am a major beef lover. But sadly, I don't think baby liked it. The noodles helped a bit, but dry salad made me feel totally normal again... Just a learning bit to figure out what is good or bad. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | If you are really really sick ask about Diclegis. I would have been in the hospital a few times without it I was so sick those first weeks. It didn't restore my appetite but it did let me keep some stuff down, especially liquids. Saved my life. |

| Congratulations!!! Rest and eat healthy! Sleep when the baby sleeps, chores can wait. I had 4 in 4 years and good sleep was the key. If my babies were fussy or hungry I fed them, I followed their schedule - not what a book said. All my babies were sleeping they the night by 4 months and woke up happy. |
