Like I said it was brought up in a conversation earlier and I know a lot of you have owned many crosses and many different bloodlines, so figured it would be interesting to see. |

| Special Efforts make great horses but if you pick a fight with them, plan on bringing your suit case and a miners light because you will be there for a while if you plan on winning. I love them but they are tough!!

OTMR horses seem to be hard headed and just quirky in general. Not a ton of experience with them but what I do have, I dont think theyre a good fit for me anyway.
I've always known the Peppy San Badger horses to be kinda pi$$y but hard workers. They are gritty and I like them anyway but they always seem to have a little extra sass imo.
Those are the only two I can think of that I have had enough experience with to "label."
Always heard things about Beduino horses and Zevi horses but never ridden them so have no input but all the comments scare me from them lol |

Mostly the good.... Mine is really the biggest goofball ever too-love him to death (he does have a little texas high dasher in the mix too...hmmm ) hotter than a pistol-shawne bug x dash for cash-whew of course my opinion only |

Location: Iowa | I have had a couple Dash ones and they all seem to be very fun loving and sensitive...and they were both free runners. Two of my favorite horses!
I have also had a Frenchmans and a Sharp horse and both were very hard headed and if you disciplined, they remembered! Safe to say these two were inconsistent with me. |

In your experiences what bloodlines (or certain crosses) that are...
Quirky- my Shazoom,
Laid Back- My Firewater Ta Fame
Hot- also my Shazoom, and my Strawflyin Buds
Sensitive- my Reckless Dash
Hard Headed- my This Snow is Royal
Ect...
Like I said it was brought up in a conversation earlier and I know a lot of you have owned many crosses and many different bloodlines, so figured it would be interesting to see.
I will share my experiences so far:
Rare Bar- solid as a rock, athletic, competitive, lots of try and lots of heart. Ours is very ratey but our younger Rare Bar feels more free
Reckless Dash- a little more sensitive, solid at the races, runs in rodeo atmosphere, not super affectionate, easy to handle.
Strawflyin Buds- very athletic, very smart, very sweet, on the hot side behind the arena, calm at home. Mine's not a picture of soundness but she has a history of old traumatic injuries like kicking through a fence
Jet Of Honor- ours was grouchy, but gritty, athletic, talented, knew her job.
Stoli- goofy, quirky, friendly, probably goofy and quirky out of sheer boredom because shes just a broodmare. All personality and very friendly. Both of her babies have been the same way. She's just innocently playful.
Shazoom- very talented, athletic, fast, free runner, had some quirks on the ground, solid under saddle, sweet disposition.
This Snow is Royal- will not own another one
I didn't mention any of the female family on any of these horses, and I think female family has a ton to do with it also.
I personally do not mind a hotter, quirky horse. I like a free runner and I can calm one down in the alley. My sister does better on push types where you need to whip and spur. |

My experience with the DFC lines is they are all on the sensitive side and too smart for their own good, but they are all want to please. |

| I've had a Zevi bred one. Flighty, kind of cold backed, and took forever to warm up and settle down. I would never do it again. |

| First on the Red horses (first down dash) never buck... I think I have ridden 30 of them and broke a bunch for the track and only one "tried". They learn super fast, will put a great mind into one.
Trained on a Playgun Prank colt...would have made a nice nice futurity horse if he wouldnt have been so accident prone. Waaaay laid back and almost lazy.
Trained on a son of Highbrow Cat...a little quirky, could be a bit stubborn, but really athletic....and willing for the most part. Really liked him and would have one of my own if I got the chance.
Panther Mountains can be way lazy and sweet. I had a AAA son...IDK how he ever ran that fast lol, but he turned it on when he wanted to.
have had a AAA daughter of Fishers Dash I ran for mom here and there....lazy lazy at home. Defintely marish, can be a hot head at a race.
Had a son of Bully Bullion off the track. Really liked him. He was just a good ol boy. Could do anything I wanted with him.
Mom is running a AAA son of Ivory James...hes super safe. Even when he is being a brat and fresh I dont worry about him hurting mom. Really good minded colt...retains everything and then some.
I am a big fan of the First Down Dash grandsons...it doesnt even matter what sire haha...they have all been way nice and honest for me....depending on the mare they were crossed with they really want to turn too.
I love the Shining Sparks...Ive ridden a son and a daughter. Really good minded. Easily trainable. Can be a little goofy when they are fresh but not dangerous by any means.
I have had a son of Confederate Leader. Really sweet, good minded. Some can be watchy...but mainly just immature. I really like them...I'll have another one day.
I had a son of Firecracker Fire, he was really watchy, spooky, athletic enough to jump out from under you. Mom gave him to me for that reason. He ended up being a really nice horse.
I have trained on a son of Toast To Dash (?) He was really smart, willing, a little bit watchy. Not really hot headed at all.
Had a AAA son of the Snow is Royal that I ran here and then for my mom. He could be a hot head and hard to take a tuning but he was really nice and trainable for the most part. Not silly or goofy....just couldnt take much of a tuning.

Hot - Takin on the Cash Sensitive - my DFC x Grey Dancer Hard Headed - tie between the Mr San Peppy's and the MurrtheBlur.... the Murrtheblurr was also a sneaky bucker. Location: Peach State | Hot horses would be all the jet deck/ top moon bred horses I've ever had (3 out of 3 were spastic but could dang sure run)
I have a Hancock gelding right now and that has to be the most stubborn horse ever, but also the grittiest. |

| Hmmm, one of my favorite broodmares I foaled out this year was a This Snow Is Royal mare. I loved her and her colt's personality, but I didn't see their work ethic, so that may be a factor. |
