Location: Okla | Was wondering what everybody keeps in their medicine bag to keep handy if/when any horse accident happens while on the road /or at barrel races... And how long will it be good in all weather seasons if left in the horse trailer. | |

Location: Kansas | If you are talking about a first aid kit, then yes I have one I keep in my horse trailer. I keep everything in a plastic container with a lid. It stays closed unless I need to use it. It's lasted me awhile now, and I don't really have to worry about the weather because it's in the container. Just have to check expiration dates on the meds though. | |

Location: MD | I have a small plastic tool box I use, it's got cotton gauze, vet wrap, betadine, triple antibiotic, bute, scissors, small baggie of epsom salts.
I keep people things in there too. Band-aids, neosporin, tylonol, people sized gauze pads, medical tape etc.
I leave it in my tack room and put it in my trailer when we leave so the stuff stays good and I keep checking on it. The worst thing is when you've left it in your trailer and it's all melty, expired or things won't stick and your REALLY need them to! | |

Location: London Ontario | I have a tote full off cottons and wraps, diapers, Betadine, Coagulating power, cotton balls, alcohol wipes, scissors, Epsom salts, band aids, duct tape, bags, a note pad and pen, extra halter and lead, thermometer, clean sponges, hoof pick, syringes, a twitch, extra fly mask, poultice, vetwrap, gauze, Vaseline, gloves, a flashlight, tweezers, animalintax.
I am looking to get something for allergies/breathing, bleeding and a tube of past for Tie up/colic.
I will also be grabbing a bottle of liquid bute and banamine. Although I am super nervous about giving any kind of needle, I know there is usually another person around who is comfortable with doing it.
I also stock one for ppl with the same as well as an extra set of clothes, warm set of clothes etc.
Wayyyy better to be over prepared then not at all. | |

| I have vet wrap, diapers, BOT quick wraps and polo wraps, banamine, bute, dex. and Ranitidine. It will all do the trick until I get one to vet if I need to. BUT I am adding that Colic stuff from Herbs For Horses. I dont think there would be anything worse than having a horse colic on the road.

Location: PNW | The list of what's NOT in my vet kit would be shorter. I use a largish toolbox and keep it in my trailer. Besides vet supplies, I also keep other "emergency" supplies in there too.
Meds:
Banamine
Bute
Ace
20 gauge needles in varying lengths
Syringes of varying sizes
First Aid:
Vetricyn
3x antibiotic goo
Gauze pads
Cotton roll
Vet wrap
Blood stop (human and horse)
Needles and suturing supplies
Leg/muscle:
Lame Away mud and spray
Sore No More mud
Standing wraps (already clean, rolled, ready to go)
Plastic wrap
Mechanics' paper towels
Quick ice packs (the kind you crush up and break and the chemical reaction makes them cold)
Miscellaneous:
Silver fire blanket (put it on a horse tying up to quickly hold in heat to soothe sore muscles)
Maxi pads & tampons - good for all absorbent needs
Chicago screws
Duct tape
Rubber bands and zip ties
Electrical tape
Leather punch
Tylenol and ibuprofen for me
Allergy meds for me
Epipen for me (bee stings)
