When you go from a barrel saddle to a cutting saddle do you stay in your seat size or go up one? I figured you just stay the same but I've never owned a cutting saddle before.

I chose to go up.  I ride a 14 barrel saddle.

My cutter is a 16.  I like a little bigger cutting saddle so I can really lock my arm and get my "slouch" when I drop my hand on my filly.

If you are looking for a cutting saddle to run barrels in, you'll just have to sit in some and figure out what you like.  Good luck finding anything under a 15.5" though.  Mine is a 14" and the tree had to be made custom for what I was wanting.
