Holy wow I will not have a life starting in May!! It's going to be a tough 12 months. 4th year of vet school starts May 9, 2016 and our tentative graduation date is May 10, 2017. I get 2 weeks of vacation somewhere in that year, and of the 4 weeks of christmas break and then spring break, I get two of those weeks.. but I may end up working both christmas and spring break. Most of my rotations have 7 day a week obligations, but not all of them. I am not sure which ones do and don't. I also get 4 weeks of externships that I get to take.

I guess I picked a good year to breed Bunny after all

And this my dear is the beginning of your life as a Veterinarian!  Congratulations!  The end is in sight! Learn as much as you can-hands on training is usually what sticks with you the longest!

Welcome to the pre training for the adult working world.  Your choice of professions will be a demanding one.  Congrats for making it this far and for continued success.

All of this

I never sleep and sometimes forget that other people do.

I was working on some stuff one morning about 5:30am and texted my Repro vet to ask a question.

As soon as I hit send I realized what time it was and immediately followed up with a mea culpa for bothering her that early.

She texted back and told me not to worry about it, she was a vet and had two kids so she never slept either.

Oh 4th year... Definitely was the most time consuming of all of my years in vet school! I worked and regularly rode/ran barrels all through my first 3 years.. 4th year, not so much. Best thing to remember is you can do anything for 3 weeks (or however long your rotations are) :)

I'm an intern at Oakridge in Oklahoma now, If you are looking for a fast paced externship where you will see a lot of cases/surgeries I highly recommend it! Just let me know and I can set you up with the lady that books our externs, or if you have any questions just shoot me a PM.
