If you ride a circle Y sports saddle, which model do you have, what made you choose it and what size seat did you go with compared to a treed saddle if you were riding one proir to changing?

I have owned/ridden in both.  I prefer them over the Bob marshalls, but still think the BMs are made a little better.

Tammy is designed to sit you down and back, more secure.

I chose the Jackie saddle because it allows you to sit up and more forward then the Tammy but I still liked both of them.  I don't ride in the Jackie often as I overall prefer treed saddles.  But I do utilize the Jackie saddle for beginners and for when my spine is acting up.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly.  I ride a 14 in a treed, and a 14.5 in a jackie/tammy.  Typically, treeless saddles will fit you tighter then a treed, they are designed to.

I was riding in an older Bob and upgraded to a new Tammy. I agree that the Bob has better quality leather, but I prefer the "guts" of the Circle Y, not near as much nylon. I chose the Tammy bc it fits most similar to a Bob. I ride in a treeless bc that is what my horse prefers, and honestly I'm pretty used to it now lol. Although I do have one gelding I don't run with it, we've just made better runs in my old trophy Twister so that's what I use on him.

They do fit tighter thats why I asked what size seat you prefered in the Circle Y vs your regular treed saddle. And since they come in full seat differences 13.5, 14.5, 15.5 I am curious what is prefered.

If you ride a 14 inch treed, I would suggest a 14.5 tammy or Jackie.  I do know that when I ordered one from Circle Y and they sent the wrong size on accident (the saddle was incorrectly marked), they were pretty quick to replace it with the right one.  I always think though if you haven't ridden treeless yet, you need to try them first before you buy

I typically ride in a 15", but my weight has fluctuated a lot over the past 3-4 years.
My Bob was a 15.5", and wasn't too big, but could've been smaller. I tried on a Tammy way before I ordered my new one, and preferred the 14.5". That's what I ordered, knowing full well I had gained 25-30 pounds lol. It actually fits me ok. Maybe a little snug, but not so much that it effects my riding. I also know I'm losing weight. My Bob had just gotten to where it fit me good at my highest weight. So I went a size down, I don't need room to grow hahaha.
I'll say the Tammy's are stiff when they're new, but I suppose many saddles are. My Bob came to me broken in so I didn't have to deal with that.

What I found with all the circle Y treeless, since the leather isn't as soft and supple as it could be, is that they all have a tendency to make the inside of your legs sore the first few rides, but they do break in quickly.  I don't think the quality is as good as the BMs but I have been happy with them.  I really like that I can use them for beginner riders and they fit all the horses well enough.

I figured out very quickly I could no longer ride in shorts. That's all I wear in the summer. But mine is pretty much broken in now with probably 30 rides. I feel like it rides pretty much the same as my Bob and fits my gelding. I'm sure I could find a treed saddle to fit him, but that would be a lot of trial and error when he's happy with the treeless.

I think there is always a time and a place for both treed and treeless.  I know there is always a great debate.  I just preferred my treed saddle because I personally ride better in them.  But I can name a few dozen peopel who are amazing riders and extremely successful in treeless as well.

I love my Jackies! I have 3 different colors to choose from to match my decor that day. lol I felt like my Tammy held me in to much and I couldn't get up and ride like I needed to with my push style horse. I ride in a 14.5(when I was a little skinnier )-15" treed saddle so went with a 15.5 in the circle y. Love them, I find they are super comfortable!

So if I have really explosive hard turning horses it sounds like the Tammy might be a better choice for me. I want to sit down and stay down. True?

I've rode in a Tammy, a Jackie, and a Circle Y Just B Natural.
I did not like the Tammy, WAY too constrictive for my type of riding.
The Jackie was OK, but I didn't feel like I could move my feet as much as I wanted.  It has a lower cantle so it's not quite as restrictive.

The JBN was perfect!  It held me in, but allows me to get up and ride hard.  It has very free movement for feet placement, and it is super duper comfy.

If you ride a circle Y sports saddle, which model do you have, what made you choose it and what size seat did you go with compared to a treed saddle if you were riding one proir to changing?

I started riding in a Tammy because my horse had to be rode in one. I have rode in a BM also but not a Jackie. I have found that if I ride my stirrups short then I feel like I can ride. I ride a 13.5 in treed saddles and got a 14.5 because they come in 13.5,14.5,15.5 etc. I got mine used and then ended up getting a new one and I never felt like I could ever really get it broke in. I feel like my used one allows a lot more feet movement than the new one. For a treeless saddle I like it, I am not a huge fan of them in general, I ride Double J's on every other horse.
