Im currently running my open mare in a Ty Mitchell short shank gag with no curb chain. Shes very light and be picky when it comes to bits. This year she has gotten a lot stronger and i feel like i need something with a bit more bite. I dont need anything aggressive, no long shanks. just something to help lift the shoulder a bit more and make our turns snappier, I feel like we are loosing time around the barrels. I was thinking about some kind of short shank lifter with no gag, or maybe a short shank ed wright. But ive never rode with these bits and dont know what they feel like. Help!!

Call JD Morrow. I will PM you his number if you like. I talked to him for a solid hour and He built me a bit to try on my horse. He is the maker for most of Ed and Martha's bits I believe. I love his bits. He stands behind them and will never make you eat the cost on a bit that doesn't work. Message him on facebook even. He's a great guy that knows his bits. He fixed my bit problems.
