Very Important Person Posts: 5682 Location: South MS	Anyone have experience with it (whole horse)? Best place to have it done (in south / southeast region)? Any "cons" to using it?

GRD's Fan Club Advisior Posts: 6750 Location: Lost in Texas	It's only as good as the person operating the camera imo. I used it to diagnose a horse instead of having to do a bone scan.. But it was a vet who did it in a climate controlled facility.

Veteran Posts: 133	I was researching it a while back. One piece of info stuck in my mind it said that you needed to have it done in a breeze free place. The poster above who said they had it done in a temp controlled space reminded me of that. I saw a youtube video of a demonstration but there was clearly a breeze blowing and it made me wonder about whether the accuracy would depend on the person performing the scan? I've never had it done but would like to. As long as I can feel confident that it is being done correctly. Last thing I want to do is get there and have them doing it outside and me feeling stuck about saying anything when they are the expert not me. An extremely hot day (and we get lots of them in Oklahoma) will affect the scan as will a horse that's wet.

It's a great tool to use with your horses but there are protocals that need to be followed to get accurate readings. He works with our local vet. Every client gets the images in a report & they can be taken to their local vet or their shoer.
