| Just curious. Where are you located and what is the typical winning time on a STANDARD pattern in your area? I'm talking local barrel races and true standard patterns.
I'm in Central, TX. Last week someone broke the arena record in Caldwell with a 16.4. Tonight a 16.5 won it. WPRA measured pattern. Thought its pretty intense for a local, 40 entries race. |

Location: Texas | I just don't know about that... I wonder if they had the timer scored correctly
I was supposed to go to that race tonight too.
I just find it hard to believe that two weeks in a row, a world record would get broken. At a small jackpot even with tough riders, because really tough people do show up there.
Ugh sorry I keep editing.. are you sure they had it as a WPRA standard pattern? Because Ride Like a Girl keeps track of their own patterns and the arena records on the pattern they use that day. They used to run a short pattern and now they switched back to their "big" pattern.

| Yes, they posted it was WPRA measured standard pattern. Its a large pattern, and my horse is running 18s which is typical of him on a standard. We definitely aren't trying to be some bada**es ;)
Only one girl took the entire 1D last night. Next fastest time was a 17.1.

| We don't have a standard pattern around here. Every thing in TX is not bigger. |

Common Sense and then some
Location: So. California | Around here, they set a standard pattern with a short score line. Winning times are low to mid 16's. 100 entries or 500 entries... |

Was this a WPRA race? Who won as that would be a new or close to a new world record |

Location: MD | I just watched a friend's video from that race from last night. I love my friend, but I know how that horse clocks and I can guarantee you that it didn't clock like it did on a true standard. Maybe the score was short? |

I can't seem to post the screenshot. This is their post from their facebook page:
"Man! What an AMAZING RACE tonight!! Congratulations to Mitzi Mayes for setting the new arena record on the standard pattern (WPRA Meas. ) at our race with 45' from timer to barrels with a 16.415!"
It was not a WPRA race. Ride like a girl productions. There was maybe 50 entries. |

Location: Moving soon..... | I would think that an office or Director of WPRA would have to verify that it was indeed a "standard pattern." I was there that nite and it did not look like it was big enough for a standard, but that's my opinion. |

They would need a 60' score line (from timer to barrels) for it to be a standard pattern... This is NOT a standard pattern.
Pattern A: Current WPRA standard pattern - 90' between first and second barrel, 105' between barrels 1 & 3 and 2 & 3, 60' from timer line to barrel 1 & 2. When using a closed gate or side entry gate a minimum of 75' between timer line and fence, chutes, or exit gate is recommended.

This ^^^^
A lot of the time in the south the barrels are set on the inside of the markers. This is different than the rules for the WPRA "standard pattern". |
