Location: White Mountains of AZ | So we have a community college that I was thinking to start taking some classes and get my Associates. I really don't have a career I want to get into, but something generalized so I could have differnt options. There's the Associate of Business, and the Associate of General Studies. I'm thinking one of these, but not sure which. Any suggestions? |

That's the thing...I don't really have a career field I want to get into. I'm a receptionist at a vets office right now and I like it... |

I would go with associates of business then. Its a good start for just about anything, if you're happy where you'er at it will just give you some more business knowledge and if you ever decide to branch out that knowledge will be welcome. I went the business route and ended up going into english and secondary education but what I learned in achieving that associates degree helped me out moving forward. Also by actually having an associates degree i didn't have to go back and meet any of the basic requirements for my english/secondary education degrees. |

Thank you for your input! That's what I was thinking... |

Location: Deep South | If you are not going to pursue a specific 2 year degree/career (ie dental hygienist, or something similiar) or use your 2 years at a CC to then transfer to a University, in my opinion, you are wasting your time and money.
Employers won't be impressed that you took 2 years of general studies and then quit.

Location: ND | I'm going for Administrative Assistant right now. If you like being a receptionist I would look into that. You can do a general, medical, or legal degree. I'm in the general which I really like. Lots of business classes so I get a good idea of all the different sides of business. |

I do like being a receptionist..for now though. That's why I thought the Associate of Business might be something to do. |
