This wild woman decided to get her knocked barrel down out of the way and then tend to business .. she has been successful riding so close .. she has screwed the barrels in the ground to prevent another downed barrel ... something about a little Choo Choo Train comes to mind when I watch this WHIRLWIND!! .... $76,365
ALL THREE CAME TO WIN THE AVERAGE AND THEY HAVE SET THE PACE!!
duPerier and Ganter are the only 2 that HAVE NOT KNOCKED A BARREL...

I certainly don't think this is a true statement. Jackie knows she has plenty of speed but she's a smart girl and playing it smart with safe consistent runs. I don't think its at all about setting her speed control to go slower but more like making a little more area around the barrels.
Callie is proving that Dillon is a force to be reckoned with at 3 times to the NFR with 3 different riders. That is amazing. |

Location: Arizona | It's such a close race for the World title. Two Rookies going after it!! If it were to end tonight with round 8 Callie is our Champion. But with 2 more rounds, Sarah can take the title as well. Wow, so exciting. I cant' imagine running down the alley with what is at stake! Yikes!! |

I agree. I don't think the OP knows much about Jackie's dominating winning record in Texas on many tough horses over the years, not just in rodeo. To those who know both great girls, Jackie is the obvious more experienced one between the two, not taking away from Callie in any way, Jackie has a huge proven record to back her up. |

I think so, unless Sarah or Callie have disastrous last 2 rounds. Louis is my man but I hate for anybody to have bad runs. |

Location: Southern Indiana | I don't know about everyone else but when I make a run I ALWAYS head down the alley with 2 goals in mind: 1. Make the best/fastest run possible 2. Keep the barrels up. I think it's silly when people say that someone is safety's up! You can still hit a barrel when you don't push as hard, in fact on most horses your more likely to! Jackie and Callie have simply been lucky!
It's interesting that it's come down to a race for the world. At the start I figured it would be Lisa vs Sarah. Now it's Sarah vs Callie. I'm rooting for Sarah! I hope she can hold her own!! Really Lisa could still have a chance if Sarah and Callie don't fair well in the next 2 rounds! I wanted Lisa to win because her and Louie have won everything else but that title. I think it will be awesome if Sarah gets it tho! |

| I can tell you this...Jackie Ganter doesn't know how to NOT run for FIRST every single night...she has not "set the cruise"....she just hasn't clocked as fast...I can tell you that she did not bring that horse, and is not staying on that horse for the fact that she "knows that she doesn't have the speed"....he handles ground, he is consistent, and while he may not be setting any arena records and consistenly running in the 13's....he is no slouch. Jackie doesn't ride/pay for/ invest in horses that she doesn't think have the speed. |

| I don't think Callie has been lucky, I think she came in with a game plan and has executed it well. She is obviously keeping him in her hand and off the barrels. She is not letting him get as close as the previous girls did and consequently, she is not clocking quite as fast. Of course I could be wrong, but she just seems to be riding him pretty conservatively and he is letting her.
Jackie seems to be doing the same thing. Right from the get go, it was obvious the ground wasn't very good. I think these 2 girls were wanting the average money and riding to place in the rounds safely.

Location: Peach State | So if you do some rough math Sarah has to atleast place 5th or higher in the next 2 rounds to win the title... That's of Callie doesn't place in the go rounds and only gets average money (unlikely) however if Jackie or Callie hit a barrel Sarah moves up in the average...
There's a lot of variables, all the ladies are great wishing them all their best! |

Me too...it looked like the ground was shifty at that point on the 1st and Louie lost the momentum to carry thru the turn. I really wanted this to be their year for a world title. There's no better trainer than Lisa and how do you not love her?
If Lisa doesn't have a chance, I'm pulling for Sarah. That little roan is incredible. |

Callie won the IFYR which is the biggest and richest all youth rodeo in the world when she was something like a junior in high school. It's the premier rodeo that college coaches scout and recruit at. Callie has plenty of experience.
I'd say both girls are riding smart. But there are plenty of tough rodeo's outside of TX that these girls compete at in their youth. I wouldn't say one has a better record or more experience over the other.
Having seen both in action, Callie doesn't have the high opinion of herself that Jackie does. She is much more down to earth and easy going than Jackie from what I've seen. |
