Ok I want to look past the ideal quarter horse! I want a stud that's over done in ideal! To the point that it's not entirely ideal anymore to many people. Also any on the taller side? Now I'm not necessarily planning on breeding to a stud like this for sure. But I'm super curious of these studs that are almost the the point of rediculessness. And the only studs I ever see that fit that description are halter horses lol
Check out the Stallion service here on BHW theres plenty of nice ones. |

Also conformation correctness is in the eye of beholder.
There are horses who I think have horrible conformation, who have either excelled in barrel racing, or produced champions in barrel racing. So why wouldn't we want to pass those genetics on?
To say that someone is a backyard breeder just because they breed a horse that doesn't have the best conformation, is saying every commercial horse breeder is a backyard breeder.
There are some amazing producering mares who have crooked legs, etc that have never thrown a crooked leg in any foal.
Also different disciplines require different conformation. A cutting horse and a supreme jumping horse. |

Why does it matter?
Because if there was a specific reason, (here there isn't) I would try to help a fellow board buddy by doing some research.
This is why it matter to me
If there is no reason, there is no reason for me to waste my time searching. |

I get what you are saying. That to me is like saying I won't talk to you about what kind of car is nicest unless your going to buy one. Skinds like the OP just wanted to have the conversation, not have to commit to anything just to talk about it. |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I've seen a lot of very short backed- big hip studs lately but no shoulder and no neck, I'm personally not a fan, I've had more success riding my longer backed- long neck- big sloping shoulder horses, but they have all had a similar style so it may just be what I like.
I don't even know if that's relevant to this thread but I also wonder who the biggest producing studs are that don't have the greatest confirmation? |
