Regular Posts: 96 Location: Rocky Mountains	The stallion is "hasta be fast" Alright one thing I notice straight of the bat is he is race bred and bred pretty well for that matter. But you dang near NEVER see a horse as race bred as this with a truely short back (2 to 1 ratio) and he's is. But he also has some funky long cannon bones. You can't see it to well in his official photo! But you can see it really well in his foals! Kinda fine boned but typical for a horse like him. He also didn't do half bad on the track he received a 97 SI. I still haven't figured out this photo thing so you'll have to find his photo if your curious in researching him. I have a frenchmans hayday palomino mare I was thinking of breeding next spring and she has low hocks (unlike this stud). She is a mare with a compact appearance to her. Could they be a good match? she does have decent conformation. She was a 1D 2D mare at the age of 5 so I'm sure she was top of the 1D potential. But no longer sound enough to run them cans to the ground. Also if you have another stud in mind feel free to shout it out!:)

Most of the cutters/reiners were shorter built and several were a bit long in the back for my taste. They don't have the same shape of rear end as the race horses. That stud is decent bred, but his sire is not what I really think of as a sire of sires. Dam raced here in WY successfully. Again the fine bone is not typical of race bred and if you think he is, I would pass. Hard to judge in a photo, but I myself have never seen him in person. If you think he has high hocks, again I would pass. It seems to are picking him apart so why are you interested in him? I suggest a son of Playgun. I think you would be happier. I just havent been around a horse I was aware of being race bred that short. But then again I'm relatively fresh to the conformation evaluating. That is why I ask becuase I very well could be wrong. And if I am I need to be corrected:) i was ignorant for years on this.

	I never understand when barrel racers are always wanting a short backed horse with speed, agility with a fast gathering stride ... and they pick animals that have a mustang pony conformation.. to fit their poorly designed barrel saddles ... Conformation can be deceiving ... now most of you would call this horse short backed .. when he has a strong back all the way thru his groan to his hips ... his withers are the deception .. they extend behind his shoulder blades as depicted by his mane which allows the horse to have far reaching strides of 26-27 ft ... I think you are right to go with a racebred stud if your mare is by Dinero. I'm not sure what the bottom side of your mare is but it would be a good idea to balance her out with some speed. I think the boy you've pointed out is decent looking and decent bred if you want to keep the resulting foal. If you want to sell, you won't get much for it though. If you are looking to sell, I would go with a more well known running bred stud.
