| What are your favorite stirrups? I just have some basic aluminum ones and have for years but they are pretty worn and I'm looking to purchase some new ones and wanted to hear everyone's thoughts! I'm looking into the original crooked as well as other options. Thanks in advance!
ETA: I ride in a treeless - those who ride in a Bob Marsball- what are your favorites as well?

Location: Southern Oregon | I have always ridden in the run of the mill aluminum stirrups, some where off set. I recently started working on a comeback, and noticed that with some extra weight I had put on that my hips, knees and ankles were killing me after every lesson. I went a head and bought a pair of used KROES feet stirrups to try out. I actually REALLY REALLY REALLY like them. I only have a few complaints about them. One is that they are very heavy, and makes it kind of a pain to fling them around while putting the saddle on and taking it off or putting it in the trailer. I have dinged up my saddle a time or two putting them up to cinch my saddle or adjust it. I also really wish they would make a YOUTH size so I could buy some for my daughter |

Location: Woodstown, NJ | You probably wouldn't be interested in these, but I like Emergency Release stirrups. They're made out of plastic so they are light. I like everything light. We started on them right after my daughter fell off at a race years ago and got dragged. What a horror that was to see! We have big feet in this family so it's easy to get our feet stuck. I was really glad she was riding with them when she fell off another time, got her foot stuck and they worked and released. I actually have pictures of that--her hanging upside down! We couldn't find them here in America anymore (the light, plastic kind) so my husband ordered me a pair from Australia for Christmas. I can't wait to get them! |

| The original crooked stirrups. Been using them for ten plus years. Only thing I will use. |

| Thanks for all the replies! So many choices! It's hard to shell out $100+ for one pair of stirrups! Difficult to decide! |

Buy used. I paid less then $50 shipped for mine, used. I plan on buying a pair for each of my saddles and my daughters. |

Nettles half breeds...
Hands down! It took me YEARS to cough up the money for a pair, now I would never have anything else. Totally helped my knee pain and never lose a stirrup. |

I'm interested in the ones Fallon Taylor used at the NFR with the swivel foot bed- curious how that feels. |

Location: Windoming | I ride in a Bob Marshall. I love the slanted crooked stirrups, won't ride without them. I used to get bad leg cramps and sore knees with regular stirrups. Not a problem anymore. |
