Has anyone here been in previous years? Good/Bad experience? I'm hoping to enter for the race in February. I enjoy Perry and they always do a great job with the ground. I was hoping to get some feedback before I enter.

This is the first one I believe.  I know that the one in NC was big.  The one in Jacksonville was a little smaller.  I think Perry should be big.  I think it is great they are trying to have bigger shows in our area.

This is the first time the No Bull Barrel Race has been to Perry. They have a lot of new shows on the schedule this year. They just finished one in Jacksonville.
I've been to the one in Asheville, and it is great. Well run, good prizes, & good ground. The show committee has been around a while at different shows, so they know how to run a big show.
If I had anything in shape, I wouldn't hesitate to go. As it is, I'll probably wait for Clemson.

I did go to Jacksonville.  I'm not sure I would go back to another but I will wait and see how more of them go.  I think it was okay, but the way people were talking, I was expecting it to be great.
The draw was posted only through 200, then there were people on the original draw that "drew out", while others were not allowed to draw out or substitute riders.  The spots with those people were filled with someone else.  I didn't like that since the rules said it was not allowed.  Then when I checked the original draw it was deleted.
They changed the start time several times and it was hard to figure out when things would start.  That was very confusing.
I did not think the pay out was that great.  I compared it to other shows of the same size like NBHA Perry and PACWEST and it was very much the same.  Only paying 8 places with close to 400 riders seemed very low to me.  They never posted the side pots from the last day.

There was no clock to see the times.  Someone showed me a TV screen but no one could read it.  No way to see the results unless you had wireless and I did not and none of the people I was with had enough to constantly check it.
Very few vendors but that may not be the fault of the producers.  I do know one vendor was asked to leave after paying the vendor fee because she sold a competing product to Oxygen.  That was the producer.  That was weird.
When you asked questions at the desk they would tell you I don't know.  This happened several times with a lot of people.  There was a lot of confusion with the draw for making it back to the short go.

The things I liked were the ground stayed almost exactally the same during the whole show.
The screen seperating the tractors from the 3rd barrel.
Another big producer in the east is good.
The web page is kind of cool but very hard to navigate.
I liked the announcer and the gate set up and crew.  Very well organized.

I have heard nothing but great things about these shows so I decided to enter Perry as well as one of my good friends that makes a living with barrel horses really pushed me too try them. As long as she's been in the business, she said it's the best set up, really made to pay the barrel racers vs some where it's there o pay the organization.
